  1. WENT OUT FOR AN EARLY FISH ON SATURDAY MORNING. STARTED AROUND MIDDLE HEAD ON PLASTICS (LANDED TWO SALMON AND SOME SMALL SNAPPER). TROLLED OUT THE HEADS WITH A WHITE TROLLCRAFT DIVER LURE AND CAUGHT SOME BONNIES AND SOME MORE SALMON. COOKED UP THE SALMON IN A BROWN VINEGAR AND FLOUR BATTER - WAS REALLY GOOD. I USEF TO CHUCK THEM OUT WHEN I CAUGHT THEM, NOT ANYMORE.
  2. Caught some more large Bonito yesterday arvo out long reef on the troll with 4inch rapalas. Caught our bag limit in hour. Didnt come accross any Kings unfortunately, however, have been catching a lot of rats out the behind Makaha.
  3. Yeh bud, heaps of rats out longy but no legals either. Might try some jigs next weekend as some of the Kayaks were pulling solid kings mechanical jigging. Got some solid Bonito and rats trolling - good fun.
  4. Great Steve, I was up there too and we drove the centre console out and around to Iluka bluff a few times. Bagged out on Bonito & Taylor using metals & trolling divers. Heard the boys are getting some serious snapper around 1km off Angourie point, just a little far to motor from the launch at the BPstation. Feb is when the spanish mackeral come on! Need to be trolling deep divers and skirts around Iluka bluff.
  5. They are solid mate. How far past Makaha was it? Out passed the island at long reef? Also, where you on plastic or bait? That is amazing Well done! Butch
  6. CAUGHT THESE TWO BIG BREAM UNDER THE SPIT BRIDGE AROUND THIS TIME LAST YEAR. NOW THAT I AM A NEW MEMBER I THOUGHT ID SHOW THESE OFF. CAUGHT ON PILCHARD FILLETS FLOATED WITH ALMOST NO LEAD. 48CM WAS THE BIGGEST ONE.
  7. Hi Sz1, Got them on Mullet strips out the back of Makaha reef. They tasted great with a beer batter.
  8. Thanks Stewy, here is another one for ya my friend.
  9. HI Crew Well last weekend was a thumper for fishing… First of all Jay caught a (estimated) 8kg Groper that was as big as small Bin – OUT LONG REEF BOMBY! It was so big that we couldn’t get it in the boat to have a better look – it was amazing to watch as the 20pd braid snap like string under the force of the groper. Next we moved out onto the reef behind Makaha and got into some Kings, Tiagras, Morwong and what we think was a massive shark (Jay). All in all was a crazy fishing day.
