  8. Only once in the Hawkesbury but never in the georges river. It also depends on where you crab. The further down river the more chance of getting blue swimmers.

  15. I generally use witches hats as you are allowed 5 per person but you have to make sure you have plenty of spare nets as they get ripped to shreds when you get the big crabs tangled in their. :1yikes: For pots you are only allowed one per person. Best bait for muddies is fresh mullet.
  16. Fish cocktails of a jewie go down the best. The bigger they get the better they taste.
  17. I was using cut up mullet for bait. I was using the witches hats in the hawkesbury with 2 pots as well.
  18. all crabs and fish were caught around the Alfords Point Area
  19. Pillies for the bream and squirt worms for the whiting. Also caught plenty of undersize whiting on the squirt worms.
  20. Gday Fellas Tried the Georges for some muddies. Not much luck however. All up we ended up with 2 muddies. One very good sized female and one small male which had to be thrown back. Also we caught a few bream and a very good size sand whiting. Here are some pics

  23. Oh and by the way another tip on catching these mud crabs is Most of the Mud crabs are caught pretty close to dense mangroves and mouths of creeks in the later part of the afternoon and throughout the night.
  24. Thank You Simon for your concern. If Stan wants pics of mud crabs with my boat on the Hawkesbury I will give them to him just to show him that i'm not lying. Youre spot on about mangroves for the mud crabs.
