  1. Name and shame the insurance company. Or at least pm me so I don't go with them in the future.
  2. Ankle to thigh deep as the tide came in.
  3. Fished some flats on the hacking Sunday arvo on the rising tide in knee deep water. Live nippers and 3lb Fc sniper. No whiting around. Caught 6 legal bream biggest probably going 30cm (left my alvey ruler on my mates boat the day before), all released to fight another day. If they were whiting it would've been dinner time!
  4. Thanks boys, I'll try the flats for a while and when the water gets up over the knee I'll give the other side a crack.
  5. Thanks for that. So do they still get up on the edges of the flats or should I go for the deeper water. In the warmer months I try to avoid the deeper water with nippers because I always seem to get hammered by the little reddies.
  6. During the warmer months I was having a lot of success pumping nippers in sans souci then heading home to the hacking and pulling a few off the flats of my local bay on 3lb flouro and long shank hooks. I know the lure fishos normally wait for the warmer months to target whiting on the flats, but I was wondering if the whiting take nippers all year round? Are they even around this time of year? The tides look favourable for my favourite spot next weekend. I don't have a kayak anymore so has to be land based for the next few years.
  7. Can't wait to get my next boat.
  8. What kind of boat are you running there mate?
  9. Mate I've got a 6000bcvrrt that I use with either a Wilson 4144 or lox 12ft 6-10 for drummer off the rocks. And I've got a 45bc with a catana coastline light for Luderick and light beach
  10. Mate this morning they were very hard work, and the majority of the bigger ones had eggs so I felt a bit slack taking them. I tried to put them back but they were getting eaten by the seagulls, so I figured if they were going to die anyway best they catch me a feed. No dramas at all mentioning the ban on gunnamatta. These forums are all about fishos sharing knowledge, whether that be so everyone can catch more fish or more people can avoid fines. Share away and raise issues where the issue lay. I personally don't think there is enough signposting to help out fishos pump in the right areas. I think the signs should reinforce bag limits for bait aswell. I've lost count of how many people I've seen take more than the 100 nipper limit. I reckon that's why the nippers were so few and far between in front of the sailing club this morning.... Over pumped if you ask me.
  11. I drive to the sailing club at sans souci and then drive to the hacking to fish. The only time I pump nippers on the hacking is when I take my kayak over to maianbar.
  12. Had a really long fortnight at work. Finally had a chance to hit the flats for a feed of whiting. Went to the flats at the sailing club to get nippers, but most of the bigger ones were full of roe so had trouble finding bait. Got over to the hacking as the tide was just starting to turn. Caught half a dozen undersize whiting when this horse jumped on. It was a really long fight on 3lb flouro. There was a really nervous moment, as I was having some trouble getting my net out of my wading bag, the fish ran around my leg! I was lucky enough to get the fish loose without snapping the light line. When I finally netted the fish, I couldn't believe my eyes. Another PB for the year. 43cm. Bettering my previous by 2cm. Another chance for COTM.
  13. I sold my stacer nomad 469 a few years ago, storage became an issue and leaving it out on the road wasn't working for me. I really enjoy fishing solo. It had a Starboard side console, electric motor mounted on the port side. I'm pretty sure the fuel tank was on the port side too. It still listed to starboard and was uncomfortable when the weather got bad in Botany Bay. The 429 could be different as Huey says, but do yourself a favour and make sure you get a test ride somewhere. Next time I get a boat, it'll be a 4.5 bandit with a hinged drawbar for my tiny cronulla garage. I personally preferred to stand up and use my legs to absorb the shock when the weather picked up, I would always find myself trying to stand in the middle to even things up. Good luck making your decision.
  14. Mate get a Hobie pro angler 14. If you want to feel like a boat owner.... Put it on a trailer. Hahahaha. I bought a stacer nomad a few years ago. Spent about 18k on it. Sold it a few years later. Got into kayak fishing which is better IMO. No rego, no petrol, no whingin mates telling you where you should be fishing and how you should be fishin. No dramas Hahahah just kidding. In all seriousness though, If you didn't grow up around boats, or with a tradie upbringing, boats are a pain in the arse. Things will rust and break on your boat that you didn't even know existed. And unless you live near someone like huett marine, finding reliable marine mechanics/electricians is hard and expensive.
  15. I know this is an old thread, but it's a bummer no one has responded.... I just logged on looking for the same info.
  16. Thanks for the taking the photo while I held the fish still mate. You're a champion... Oh and thanks for pumping the nippers too. A true gentleman.
  17. Mate I just bought a lox yoshi 1-3 7'6. Landed a 41cm whiting on 3lb flouro. Great rod, comes with a tube and tip warranty. If the length is an issue, they do 6'6 and 7ft versions too. Only bummer is they don't have k guides. I don't use this rod for lures so don't really need them. All my other 1-3 and 2-4kg rods are pflueger trions. You just can not go past them for value for money. I used to fish with tcurve flight rods, and in my opinion the trions are comparable, especially now they have k guides. If light weight is your thing. Get a stradic ci4 1000 and a 1-3 7ft trion. 2lb sunline FC Sniper. This setup will do it all. Throw a popper, a bent minnow, or a live nipper.... Best fun you can have with your pants on. Leave the high end gear for GT's and Kings. Have fun mate. Look forward to hearing the outcome.
  18. Shame you don't have this months item in the photo otherwise you'd be the best contender for catch of the month so far.
  19. I dropped one that would've gone 45 today. Spewing.....
  20. Thanks for all the replies. I've put my fish in for Catch of the Month, please take the time to vote for me. Cheers.
  21. 10'6 3-5kg shimano catana coastline light. It does everything from bream to drummer.
