Shops have them in the same area as the mouse/rat/duck/bat imitations. Some also come with bibs.

They are the bomb. Only problem is that the cod tend to deep throat them which means delicate surgery for speedy release and recovery, and also cod fingers. Zoom in on my right hand index finger and you will see what i mean. Just another of the many symptoms of cod fever.

    Cheers  Scotty

  3. At the moment mate they all seem to have a beautiful pattern, there not big fish by any mean but super aggressive. Theres flow in the peel river and it looks really healthy. Whether its dam realise or the occasion storm in the catchment area thats turning one i don't know. The lures are surface oones from a camping and fishing store. There weedless so they won't get hung up on tree branches and logs .the best colours seem to be black body ,yellow sides, white under carriage. Hope this helps mate.ill admit ive got cod fever ,it has become an addiction mate, just ask my wife. Let me know how you go?

  4. Come to Tamworth mate.upstream of the town is doing well at the moment towards chaffey dam. Ive been using savage ninja frogs about 1-2 hours before dark. Use Google maps mate, ask a farmer if can fish on there property, most are good blokes and enjoy fishing too.good luck mate, the surface strike is unforgettable and has me hooked after years fishing the salt

  5. Hey mate, the walking track behind bobbin head marina up to the back of north turramarra (think its called the shinx trail) is awesome for mobile flicking if you have someone one to meet you at the end, if not its a long walk back.Hope this helps ?

  6. Unfortunately didn't break any PB's but didn't end up doing as much fishing as I would of liked with the tally being 3 yellow belly 2 cod. All in all an awesome weekend away.

  7. My question is, are you allowed to live aboard a boat up there. I know there are some restrictions re Sydney Harbour. May want to check with Maritime just in case.

    Tuffy.

im prety shore u can moor in one spot for 28 days.there,s plenty of public moorings in smiths creek which has plenty of spots out of the wind.
  8. Thanks Scotty..

Is that wall/public toilets around the marina/wharf area (refer to the picture ive posted)?

yes it is ritchie.the southen corner of the bridge is where it starts. dont fish near the marina after dark as the rent a cop there thinks ever fisherman is trying to steal one of the boats.happy fishing, let us know how you go. cheers scotty

  9. Hey Dutchy,

Thanks for the info. I am landbased as i have sold my boat :(

I will have a look at the map..

so basically, the bobbin head area is not "really" a land based area?

hey ritchy i fish good old bobbo,s all the time.the big stone wall on the southen side of the bridge near the public toilet block is a good place to start.fish with little or no weight,if your fishing after dark why not try fishing 4 sharks as there are heaps around there atm. cheers scotty
  10. Hi All,

Now that my beloved runabout's gone i am restricted to LB fishing and mainly at night. One of the mates suggested we should give Bobbin head a go but I have no idea what so ever whether its a good LB place, what sort of species you can catch, the area, whether its safe etc...

Has anyone fished there before?..if so, what should I expect as far as the LB fishing's concern?

Did a search on the site only to end up with 100s pages with word "head" in 'em ! :tease:
