  1. That is a good report boys....It was a brilliant day and Im so happy for you all. You guys will catch lots more as you picked everything up so easily and Matt angled that difficult fish like he had caught plenty before. Great company, superb weather and a lovely vessel...oh and throw in a big beakie ! Thankyou for having me.
  2. WOW, now thats a jew. Good on ya, congrats.
  3. Try the sand flats in front of the mental hospital at Shoal Bay for good size flatties...also Little Beach has flattys and bream. Its a big bay but a lot of it is locked up by Julia's Greenies so get a map or get a fine.
  4. Bad luck boys .....better luck next time. Wont be the last one you lose though. 24kg on the big blues is optimism. There are a few smallish ones getting around but the big 200kg and up ones will see your nice new line dissapear into the depths. Good luck and hope to hear of your success.
  5. Crusher, We fished there last week. Did the long run up to Seal as did 35 other boats....saw 2 little blacks caught but the water was fairly blueish so did the repeat run the next day. Into 15-20 NE all the way. Got there and the water was green as and all the bait had moved. Gave it an hour or so and went to lures to troll back towards Port. Got a little black just south of the Seal lighthouse and lost another one about a mile east of Broughton. Water stayed crappy green all the way but there was bait marking in lots of places. The fish were pretty small but fun on the silly string. Fishing the Shootout this weekend but will be trying for a big one out wide. Its still good to see the blacks back at port, I think we are all sick of going to the car park.
  6. Congrats ....nice lizard. I think a Berkley fan should be using SP not frozen prawns.
  7. Nice try. Dont worry, hooks pull....sh-t happens. They are not supposed to be easy to catch. Bet you will try again.
  8. The tackle world at Taren Point had some last time I was there. Got 5 and 6 inch ones there and got an 83 lizard on the 5inch recently fishing for jews. Great looking lure and I dunk them in the Gulp juice too.....cant hurt.
  9. Love the Riptide mullet ! Been catching Jews on them too.
  10. Just got back after fishing the late tide change in the Georges. After 2 hours of nothing at a couple of spots we proceeded to a spot past Jewfish Point flicking plastics for jews. I had just changed to a 6 inch riptide mullet and came up tight. As soon as i felt the weight I said bring the anchor up and start the motor. I only was using my 2 kilo outfit expecting soaps. A mistake I wont make again. This thing was LEAVING! We chased it for 20 minutes and it took us almost to Lugarno marina and then back again towards where we hooked it. I was shaking as this thing just pulled so much drag if we even slowed down in the chase. We backed up on it and swung everywhere just like chasing a game fish! After 20 min and barely a dent in my adversary, the weight came off. Devo'd ! The leader wore through near the jighead. Bummer, cant tell you how many days I have fished waiting for that one. Would probably have released it anyway but would love to have knocked it over on the silly string. Anyway the moral of the story is there are big jews in the river....you just have to put up with a lot of disappointing sessions and stay keen....oh and dont use 2 kilo ! Sorry no pictures , way too busy.
  11. Nice session. If you dont mind telling, where are the slimies at?
  12. Thanks , Botany Bay for the king and Georges River for the flatty. Things were Quiet...they were the only 2 bites, so at least my hookup rate was good.
  13. Wow thats a beauty..good job. Where were the slimies caught?
  14. Went out on the bay Friday and Saturday mornings and managed a nice 76cm King which crashed a plastic on the surface and put some heat into the drag on the 10lb outfit and then followed it up with a 79cm flatty which was a bycatch of an unsuccessful jewie session. Thats a 7inch Riptide Mullet on a 3/8 jighead. The croc was released of course but the king found its way into the oven. Would have loved to get a jewie to make a nice trifecta but that will have to wait for the wind to drop below 40 knots.
  15. Hit the Georges today with hopes of nailing a jewie on the Gulps. No joy there but after 2 and a half hours of flicking I got this pretty lady. 81cm and super fat. The picture doesnt do her justice but I was by myself and I didnt want to hang her by the lip grips. She swam off to make babies and I left happy. 6 inch crazylegs in glow yellow did the job on 2 kilo.
  16. WOW....thats a good day's fishin right there! Congrats on the metre lizzard. Bucket list.
  17. Nice croc, good work on the release. Hope those pliers didnt slide into the drink...Ive done that.

I lived up there for a few years....my observations : August: Big schools of longtail tuna invade the harbour and Fannie Bay, usual story look for the birds. Spin them with high speed lures or poppers. Queenfish hotspot for me was East Point, Some days there was crazy action. Very shallow and snaggy so poppers and surface lures only. Lots of trevally there too but never got any real big ones. The barra fishing was not worth the effort in my opinion unless you went to the rivers about 3 hours away. Jewies off the ferry wreck at the cape. Do a day charter for them. Good luck
  19. Gday...we fished Brett from Assassin charters. He is the man for softbait snapper fishing.
  20. Hi does anyone know the best place to buy plastic sleeves for holding big baits like scad and scaleys in the freezer? a website or manufacturer will do just fine...thanks issue.
  21. Oh yeah......Want one ! Hope letting it go felt as nice as reading about it. Good job.
  22. WOW! Way to go boys. Good job for the punters. I hope they realise what a great effort that is.
  23. Awesome jewie. Nice of you to release it. Much better feeling that way. Hope you get more now that you are hooked.
  24. Yeah onya Mike and Damo....you got some punters some nice fish...even a couple of stonker blues.
  25. The water was ok, better than its been. Couldnt see my fish till they were about 10 feet from the boat. Dont have a temp on my sounder. Fair bit of current and muddy swirling at my spot. Got the fish at 2pm on a sunny day.....very pleasant.
