  1. Having trouble loading pics. Will keep trying. Sorry for the delay raiders
  2. Hello raiders looked at the weather forecast for Sydney on saturday and went for an arvo fish for the almighty Yellowfin. Got down to the marina got the boat out of the pen and fueled it up. Headed to my little spot for livies and had 20 yakkas in no time at all. With a light breeze about I headed to one of my many spots cruising at 30knts i was at the spot in no time. Decided to pulled some lures. After about an hour nothing was going on so I through in a deep diver with in 30mins the reel goes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I hit the rod and got nothing. I continued on for another 15 mins then the outrigger zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz again i come up short. I know I was in the zone i had a decision to make do i keep trolling or do i start to cube ???? I decided to cube and cubbed hard threw in a few livies then another 20-30 min had past and there was some action at the back of the boat I could see all these fins jumping and all of a sudden zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz off goes the penn. I was on I could see 3 or 4 other Yellowfins chasing it. About 15mins later a nice Yellowfin was landed in the boat. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh finally our first Yellowfin for the season. P.S: To the inconsiderate d$ck head in the blue hull cat with twin honda o/bs who trolled around the boat no less than 50m away when we were cubbing trying to benefit from our slick have some respect for others out there putting in the time and effort. Find your own patch there is plenty of water to choose from. Pictures to come
  3. Mate well done on your catch. Id like to commend you on releasing the female flatty not many would and those idiots that continue to catch undersize fish pull your heads in and think of the future so we can all enjoy fishing for years to come. Hopefully the fisheries or the cops can get them. Undersize fish = $500 fine
  4. Rod, if I were you I would contact the fisheries and inquire. Also if you are going to use the traps. Make sure you have your full name, address and contact details on them as per the regulations. Failure to do so and if you are caught. Its a $500 fine mate. All the best
  5. Mate through the back is the best option by far as I have found that through the nose you loose mare than you catch. Be careful not to go to far into the body and spike the spine otherwise your yakka is as good as dead, Good luck
  6. A very good friend and very good fisho told me about the capture in the Hacking. It is his mate that has caught this in the Hacking and my mate has seen the pics of it. I too know that sometime ago there were Yellowfin caught in the hacking and this year in particular we have have very warm currents in the river. I thinking that it was caught in the hacking Happy hunting
  7. Nice work mate. Got some nice bream there. Good to see also you only kept what you only needed for a feed.
  8. Nice catch mate. Its a shame that you couldn't release the Hammer Head. They are amazing to watch when you are under water with them. A great of the ocean!
  9. Great catch mate. Would have given you a decent fight no doubt. ALSO i would like to congratulate you on RELEASING the Tiger. No many would have done it. Its great to see. Well done champ
  10. Hello to all fellow raiders. This is my first ever post. Have been out fishing the last few weeks and managed to land some nice Kings. First one was a 87cm king which was a PB for me weighing in at 6.5kg. Last friday I went out again, cracker of a day the sun was rising and it was fiery red. Went a got a few squid which were hard to catch. Got 6 eventually and then headed to a few spots and nothing was on the sounder. I went to another spot where I thought they would be. Found them on the sounder schooling and feeding within minutes my mates squid was smashed and he was on. The drag going nuts taking line. After 5mins up comes a nice 86cm King. Hi fives all round in the boat. After a few pics down go a another round of squid and soon after my 37kg rod with 80 pound braid on the Diablo goes nuts. In two runs this fish has taken close to 100m of line. The drag was locked tight I knew I was onto a good fish. After a solid fight, colour could be seen and it was a king a SOLID king at that. My mate had the gaff in hand and ready to strike at the right time. The King was gaffed and brought to the boat. A nice 105cm King weighing 8.5kg. The high 5's were again on the boat and I up'd by PB again. I cracked the 1 meter. Have pics but cant work this bloody IPHONE. Once I can work it out I will post some pics. Happy fishing Raiders Ahi
  11. Nice King mate. Nothing sweeter than the sound of a screaming drag with a King on the end of it. Well done
