  1. http://www.sparmax.com.tw/airbrushes.html I've got the SP-35. Cost me around $175 from an airbrush night at my model shop. (One of the guys does professional models for museums etc, and does regular demo nights and private lessons) And I've got a Sparmax AC-27 compressor, that was about $250. Not a cheap hobby, but hey, neither is fishing The Sparmax airbrushes are completely rebuildable and I pull mine apart after every good session - or if it's getting left for a few days. otherwise I just flush thinners through it in between colours. Bit tricky to learn, but anyone can do it.
  2. That's cool man. My 'winter' hobby is model aircraft, and I've got the airbrush and the full get-up... Might start the models this year with a touch up on the lures
  3. Larger ones are sold as "1lb Squid" - Tweed river bait co I think. Better tackle shops should have it. But keep any squid out of the cold and it won't last long!!
  4. The stig fishes too? Looks sick Jack. been much the same around here, and you had a week off work! Catch ya soon.
  5. Yep, don't trust the weatherman... It's now 1am and I've decided to go for an early morn spin.... Alarm set to go off in 4 hours. Just remember, you can't catch a fish without a line in the water!
  6. Couldn't have been sharked.... There will only be sharks around at Avoca if they sink the ship. There's none there now.
  7. I've got my grumbles on because I've been hanging for a full day's fishing but too many things keep coming up. Mostly the wind and the swells. So I'm having a couch day today, shed clean out tomorrow, and family duties Sun/mon. Might go for a walk out to stinky rock tomorrow to see who's out there (Avoca ledge) But now that daylight savings is over, I should be able to get an extra hour's fishing light in the mornings before work! Happy Easter raiders!
  8. Using a bit of stiff mono will eliminate need for a bait needle, and rubber band. Decent rubber bands are quite strong, but if they're getting a bit old, they'll become brittle. Grab a new pack. I a multi coloured and multi size pack from coles and they've done the job. What kind of rig are you using? That may also be playing a part. If it's all braid and quite firm, the bait may be pulling itself free. Try using a good length stretchy mono leader to counter this. It could also be that you're not rigging it deep enough through the cavity. Try going through the front of the eye socket....
  9. There was a post about this not long ago. I have a 9ft Wilson Live fibre, RLF33, doubles as my light beach rod. There's also an 8ft which would be a better spin-only rod, it's slightly stiffer. There's heaps of them out there off-the-shelf in your price bracket. Go shop around and get a feel for the different rods.
  10. If you stop and watch the water for long enough, you'll see exactly what's going on... Much like a magic eye picture! (Except I could never do them )
  11. I'm well aware, but people that don't know the area wouldn't, so I didn't get too specific.
  12. I've been getting bonnies at 60+, but a friggy that siza is unreal! Top stuff! - I was going to go out Saturday morning too since the scuttling was canned, but we stayed up till 4:30am on the cans the night before... Needless to say, we didn't even bother trying to get up...
  13. If you're after pollution at Avoca, I'd be more concerned about the sewage outfall around the corner from the infamous Avoca ledge.... Literally, Around the corner... You know when you walk as far as you possibly can, past the cave, along the second (always empty) ledge, and it comes to a point that you can't get around... Well, it's around that point...
  14. lollecopter... I gut jagged a blackie with an 8" bibbed. Was funnies, and tasties.
  15. It'll still happen... Just waiting on the pompus Avocarians to stop thinking that they own the world.
  16. Wondering where his new V-sys is... Only to find out it's been sitting at the PO for a week! Great job Aust Post.
