  1. Geez man If in doubt throw it out! You might have caught kept and eaten a poisionous fish ...let alone kept an undersized or protected fish. All the same I like a nice fesh feed of Taylor , the closer to legal size the beater , the big ones I find too oily for my taste buds , I am sure youll enjoy them. Go back to where you caught them just on dawn or dusk and throw around a few metal slice lures you may find this the best fishing ever, very good fighters , pays to use a small wire trace also to stop their teeth cutting you off and loosing your lures.
  2. The trout fishing has been pretty good up around Tumut the last month or so, If you do want to go up there I suggest staying in Talbingo, take a boat and give the Talbing dam a try, tassies & rapalas are as good as any lure.Having good success on chunky cheese and lemon twist powerbaits off the bank both in Talbingo and Jounama dams, Blowering dam just above Tumut has been producing a big yelas up to 60cm and 15lb marks and Murray cod are being caught redfin are in abundance in the warmer months a few getting caught Ive heard easiest fish to catch here when they are on just humble worms bobbed up and down will get you a feed. The tumut river is running very fast at present and will do so for weeks to come but its full of pan size trout my last effort seen 18 hook ups for 9 landed and just kept the one a 40cm rainbow. Beautifull part of the world (GOD'S COUNTRY)everyone should visit this year with the dams so full its not seen all thought often, nearly 20 years ago was the last time. The banks are alive with Kangaroos, Emus and Rabbits with a few wombats and snakes thrown in LOL.
  3. Thanks Blood Knot ...at least I know it worked!! I'll start posting a few trips over november /december for freshwater in wagga just have to learn how to attach photos they have all been too big so far in size ...maybe I should catch smaller fish
  4. Very nice start to the season for you. I tried a few times so far round wagga wagga but the waters still to cold for the natives here still around 10-12 degrees but I think with all the states needed rainfall we will all be grinners with 10+ pounders by christmas.
  5. This is my first ever starting topic post hope it works LOL Off to Narooma Friday for a 4-5 day stint. Has anyone had any success down that way over the past week or so. I only have a boat that can handle inside I hear the water is still too cold around 16 degrees. Id even be keen to chase Sambos off the Tilba beach and new down thre?? Went to Blowering Dam at Tumut yesterday done a few hours night trolling nuthin on the sounder and no strikes but the dam is at its highest in a long time maybe 17 years and it looks amazing!!!!! Appreciate any replies.
