  1. hey guys,

I'm just wondering whats a nice place to go, have a cast and just sit to relax.... :1fishing1: with fishes ofcourse ehhehehe

One of the girls i know who loves fishing wants me to take her tomorrow... :wife:

but i haven't seen her in awhile so i said i would so we can catchup on past times as well.

Now, i'm not sure where to go as i normally do rockfishing but i reckon its to dangerous for a beginner so i wouldnt mind fishing a late/river which seems to be producing fish atm..

im located near Liverpool area but wouldn't mind the drive.

catching fish and a nice view will be good in perspective of what i'm looking for.

Thanks for any advice/location fellas :biggrin2:

  2. Hey battle, as mack said, hired the boat up in brooklyn and we hired from a place called 'brooklyn central'.

All fish were caught on prawns.

We also had chicken breast marinated in sticky cheese and pilcahrds but only thing that caught fish was banana prawns :)

  3. Hey guys,

Haven't posted in awhile, on a train to work now and nothing better to do so might of well post up a report.

Well plans were to get up at 6am for a 7am start on a hired dinghy down at hawkesbury but to my mate waking up late we got onto the water about 8:10...

Anyways headed out to our first usual spot with nothing, no bites at all for about an hour or 2 so decided to move to our 2nd location. Again with nothing biting except for a 10cm whiting so back it went and off we went to our 3rd spot. I was with 3 others, once their line hit the water they kept on getting hits and miss til finally up comes a 35cm bream, followed by a 38cm bream and then a 30cm model.

After that kept on getting pesky catfish and 3 soapies around the 15-20cm so back they went. With me catching nothing all day, i finally got a bite and up came a 48cm flatty!!! Stroked as its a pb for me.

After that only caught an average sized octopus. So then we headed to a different location, soon up came a 41cm black bream and another 38cm bream.

Checked the time amd it was then time to return the dinghy so was an good day on the waters as i havent been boat fishing for about 2 years.

Hopefully with the warmer weather coming,

I'll catch more fishes and more reports to come.

    Thanks for reading,

    Van

  4. Hey guys I'm just after a suggestion on what would be better... Either braid or mono...

I just brought a new okuma rod/reel combo for spinning plastics/lure...

And just wondering what your suggestions will be on using braid or mono line...

Most people I talk to are saying mono but they aren't flicking lures.... They mostly use bait only...

So give me some suggestions please....

I have a spare spool so I don't mind spooling one with mono and the other with braid,,,,

But if I was to stick with one type, I was going to use the spare for a different size line.

Btw ithe rod/reel is a 7ft okuma rod matched with a 2500 size okuma reel.

  5. I'm not sure if my style is different to others,

But when I fish with a float,

I normally leave the line not too loose but not to tight,

So the line will have alil slack but not too much as I still want to set the hook when the float drops.

  6. Hey all

I'm fishing the georges river right now, unsure of the name of this place,

But it's on the corner of henry Lawson drive and the river road,

I'm rigged up with worms and prawns but no bite....

So decided to go onto fish raider whileni wait :)

Anyone else fishing ATM with any luck?

  7. pillies under a weighted float or a livie under an un-weighted float works for me - play the waiting for the float to sink game xD

or you can use white skirts under a float using the cast and retrieve style works as well at times

  8. hey guys,

I'll be heading down to the entrance/tuggarah lake this afternoon for the weekend to chill and relax and of course wet a line.

I was just wondering what can i expect to catch at this time of year and where abouts?

Will only be bringing light gear so im pretty much after breams, flattys and whittings.

    Any help is much appreciated,

  9. Hey guys/girls

I was just wondering if the hawkesbury river around mooney mooney is biting ATM?

Haven't been fishing in a lloonngg while now and having an itch to get back into it

And if the blue swimmers are in yet :tease:

    Thanks in advance :biggrin2:

  10. I really don't understand why people eat fish from the Parramatta river or any where west of the bridge. Plus eating a fish that size and that old it must be filled with dioxins.

I've been eating fish west of the bridge and have also known people who have eaten it from there for a long time now with no sickness or anything.

but i guess everyone to their own i guess.

PS: i wish i caught a bream that big from Parramatta river,

always end up catching pinky size breams =[

  11. awesome catch!!!!

im hoping to get back into blackfishing soon enough...

was wondering if you can PM me where abouts were these caught if you dont mind...

once agains, awesome catch! =]
