Hey Guys, Ended up fishing at McCaulies beach list night, sent out squid and yakkas, unfortunately no jewies, but managed another reef shark just shy of 1m and also what looked to be a saltwater carfish? It had whiskers, unfortunately didnt take a pic. All in all beautiful night, no wind at all and didn't get too cold. Cheers

Thanks heaps fellas on my way now. Just got to make a decision. I fished south of windang Island two weeks ago and got a 1m reef shark on a squid. Might try north tonight.

Thanks for the response Huey. My concerns are exactly that they are not in business anymore. It is pretty reasonably priced but im most concerned on build quality and cracks in welds etc. I might be taking it for a water test soon so I'll see how it goes.

$2,200 is a lot of money for that cover. I'm struggling to see the material and labour costs involved to make it worth that much. Did it include canopy and side covers?

I know this may sound stupid but have you checked the drain plugs on the hull and made sure there is no water. Lift it right up on an angle as well. The way you described the boat drives happened to me when I test drove my boat , it was terrible. When we got back to the ramp I wanted to check if it takes on water , I swear we were standing there for a good 10mins watching all this water come out, there must of been 300L plus!!! The bloke tells me it was because he washed the boat with the plugs done up. Went back out when emptied and it was like driving a completely different boat.

Hey mate, I witnessed first hand a bloke catching a 80cm jew off the bridge around 1mth ago. His bait, frozen prawn!!! It was perfect condition for jewy with full moon and rain drizzling at the time.

The bay was definitely very lively yesterday. I fished the drums near watts reef and got a 56cm flatty and my son caught 32cm bream. Caught heaps of whiting and snapper throw backs. I was using frozen pillies and old prawns. Burley was definitely the key ingredient. Every time I would burley I would get swarmed by slimmy mackerels.

I figured that since so much bait is there. I just found it strange that it would consider a spec of pilchard no bigger than the tip of my finger. Unless I had a yakka on and it smashed the yakka.

Hey guys, I fished botany today at around 10.30 and first stop was to get some yakkas from the area just before Molly point (don't know the name of it). Anyway I had the usual setup light rod with size 8 long shank and the smallest slice of pilchard. Out of no where my to buckles over and starts peeling off line, the fish then sends me to other side of boat, as I try to put some pressure on the fish it just doesn't want a part of it and busts me off. Now I've caught kings before and this run definitely felt similar. Could it of been a king??? Has anyone caught one in there before? Was very unexpected considering the rig I had on.

I was out there yesterday and there must of been 10 kayakers... I reckon they are nutters... Conditions yesterday was pretty average I would hate to think how it was today...
