Just went and got some braid today, Super PE. I will probably be putting an underlining of mono and then braid, as I only got 150m of it. Is this a good idea? Thanks.

Hi Raiders. Just wondering what your opinions are with mono and braid on a soft plastics rod. Which do you prefer? Alot of people I have spoken to say braid is the way to go, but I really don't want to fork out $50+ for braided line. Will it bring better results if I switch to braid? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Hi mate. Just recently got my hands on some 5" Jerk Shad which glow in the dark. Will be looking to try them out myself, in the next couple of weeks, in the Georges (probably around como) Cheers.

Hi all. Where is the best place for fishing in and around Towra Point, in Botany Bay? Also, what baits work best there? Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Agree. Planned to head to Cronulla on Monday morning. Got halway out there and turned back - swell was enormous and the winds didn't help either. Fished in the bay for a while, got a few bream at the Sticks. There was hardly anyone in the bay even, maybe about a dozen boats, very quiet for a public holiday.

Cheers for the info bloopin. Yeah, im going out on my mates boat, 17ft fibreglass, but he hasn't fished the area before either. Unfortunately, his sounder is broken, so that could be an issue. Is there a FAD there that someone has placed there? My mate said it was a commercial fishing net? I have been past the area a few times and seen two white floats on the surface, but I didn't know what they were. Thanks

Hi All. I was planning to head out to Merries Reef on Monday morning, having never fished there before. What should I expect there? Snapper, leatherjackets etc. And is drifting the best method to catch these fish there? Cheers

Cheers guys. Once again went out today, same route as last time, towards Cronulla and caught close to a dozen bonito and a few Mack tuna. Going to try trolling at the breakwall in the Bay with live yellowtail or even skirrted lures? Also need to try the North head, up towards Coogee.

Hey all. Just got into trolling recently. Trolled for a bit just along The Heads, towards the Port Hacking, and picked up a couple of Mack tuna and bonito. What are some good areas to troll in and around Botany Bay and how fast should you be going? Any help will be appreciated. Cheers
