Thanks for the info so far people, Trapper Tom i will deffinatly get the trip plan up as soon as possibale. I know we are leaving from Shoot Harbour but not sure where to from there. Do you have any seggestions?? not doubt we will be doing heaps of snorkeling and exploring the islands too. Still cant wait to wet a line!! With the squid being that big is it good in the pan?? Gday Raiders This is my first post although ive been visiting this site for sometime now. its great In two and a half weeks im heading the the Whitsundays for my honeymoon. The wife to be and i will be sailing/motoring around the islands for a week and im keen as mustard to wet a line. Does anyone have any reports for this region and any tips would also be greatly appericated I live on the north coast of nsw and curently chase jewfish off the local break wall. I havent done much boat fishing as i dont have a boat and never been to the whitsundays before. Any info wolud be great eg what to target, what fish will be good for the table so and so on. I will be packing a 6 foot uglystick and taking my 750penn eggbeater reel currently with 40lb mono on it (the rocks are rough up here!!) I have a slection of lures that should be good for trolling around the islands. Is that going to produce fish?? should i be looking at bait. HELP. ha haa
