  1. Heading to Goulburn for part of the weekend and i know they are a little short on the liquid stuff, but does anyone know if there is anywhere good to throw a line in???
  2. Gianniz Sounds like you had a great day!! What were you using in the way of a lure?? Steve.
  3. Breeze, I would have to agree with eastcoastin, I personally can't catch a cold let alone a fish but the time you spend out there trying, spending time with your mates, the good weather and the rotten and yes the sights and sounds that only we can experience. Surely that alone is enough to keep you going, ok so you're not catching fish (for now) times will change and when they do you'll be there in the thick of it. Don't give up!! Steve.
  4. Indeed a very good article, there is also a great book on the subject "Beach and Rock fishing" you'll find it in most good tackle shops, i've attached a pic of it (hope it works). The best thing to do is go to the beach and stand as high as possible and you can see the dark shades of the water, i'find that's the best way. I too was thinking of Narra this Friday, maybe see you all there. Steve.
  5. Sure!! As Flattieman mentioned what are you after??
  6. Gianniz Being the surf fishing noivce that i am and not really knowing the local area all that well, i fished from Middle beach (nera Pambula beach) for the majority of the week then found out about Haycock and only got to fish there on the last day, tried bait and then turned to my 45g lure, it was a tough gig trying to get it out. then it started raining Got a few small flatheads at Middle beach but nothing worth taking. It makes me want to cry hearing you pulled some salmon on lures, as i was told "lure's never work off the beach" Good to hear that you had a good time!!
  7. Had a week down the south coast at Merimbula/Pambula. Unfortunately not even a bit off the beach!! Went to Haycock beach (between Pambula and Eden) and again not even a bite!! Fished Pambula lake and hooked a few Reds (bream) only one that was over the limit but not worth taking one home. Oh the sport of fishing some days you get them and other days you don't. At least there was plenty of beer to be had!!
  8. Hi all, Just wanted to ask the question of lures in the surf, i'm heading down to Merimbula for a week and was wondering what is the best lures to use and what is the best way to rig them up, i've been told straight on the line no swivels nothing just tie the line to the lure. I though this sounded a little strange (line tangle)!! Please help!! signed, Confused!!!
