    Trolling around the canyons will produce fish (at times) once you have located a school, either from hook up of a strike thats the best time to start cubing. The canyon straight out the front (the Kink) is roughly 20kms out. Hope this helps Cheers Grant

    Hey Mate I will be down fishing wide off JB sometime this weekend, weather looks exellent. Havnt heard much recently, due to crap weather but there where some bluefin & albacore caught last week. The sst charts have cloud on them but there is a good temp break showing. There are 3 different canyons on the shelf you can fish or you can then push wider looking for temp breaks & fish. what size of boat do you have, & do you have experience in gamefishing. (not trying to sound rude) Regards Grant

    hey mate They are a few starting to turn up along with some big blue marlin as well, im looking at going down as well hopefully it will be a good yellowfin run again this year. Cheers Grant

    No matter what the weather charts say they can be wrong sometimes & the westerlies are the worst ones to be out at the shelf in, ther is no fish worth risking your life for. But if you constantly watch the wind charts you should be fine. Cheers Grant

    Hey mate You can catch yakkas on the inner side of bowne island around the yellow marker bouys, just tie up to them & burley & the yakkas will come Grant

    Hey fellas Has any1 been out wide from sydney & done any good. Looking to go out this weekend to try & get something good, fished of Jb couple of weeks ago only to lose a striped marlin. Any reports would be great. Cheers Grant

    Hey Every1 Thanks for the advice this will really help, i think i am going to pick up some of these flies u guys have said. I thnk itjust pays to put the hours in as well. I have done alot of fly fishing in the UK for trout & i know they have flies for trout that look like bloodworms sothnk i wll get some & gver them a go for whitng. Cheers Grant

    Hi Raiders I have been fly fishing for quiet a while now for trout & palegics like salmon, tailor, bonito & kingies but i want to try some estury spieces. So can any1 help me with what sort of flies i should i should be using when targeting bream, flathead & whiting. & what lines would best suit this style of fishing. I will be wadeing the flats looking for these fish. Cheers Grant

    hi mate Wat size of boat do u have? Some good spots around that area would be the banks, the block & cheese & drum & drumsticks these all produce good kingies ova summer & pretty sure that they all produce snapper as well. I will be fishing those areas a lot ova summer as well may see you down there Cheers Grant

    That is a nice fish mate. But like every1 else has said i dnt think that that is a 15kg fish, i have been lucky enough to catch 1 that was 15kg & it measured 130cm> But great fish Cheers Grant

    Hey Mate Another good thing to try & rember when going offshore is you want to be comming home with the wind. If it says that it is going to be 10-15 knots from the west never go out. I have done this in the past, the futher out u go the more chop there is & then u have to battle it all the way back home.

    yeh mate i was down last week the water was really good a nice blue as well, we found it to 20.1. The water was in on the shelf so we didnt have to travel to far The fishing was good as well managed 3 dollies biggest was 15kgs might see ya down there Cheers Grant

    I was never going to use braid on those reels you would be stupid if you did! But i have use the TLd 50s before to catch marlin & i have seen them on the shows using them> How could the drag blow apart? isnt that sort of fishing what those reels are designed to do? Cheers Grant

    Hi raiders I am looking a buying a game combo which has a Tyrnos 50 2speed with it, but i have no experience with these reels. Are they better than the TLD 50 2speeds? Any replys will be appreciated Thanks Grant

    Nahh mate they were only school fin 1 was about 7kgs & the other about 10Kg. No we were out off Jervis bay! Cheers Grant
