hey all, apparently there are massive waves up to 4m hitting sydney beaches this weekend.. which throws a spanner in my plan for a dawn fish of north narrabeen tomorrow morning! anyone know any good northern beaches beaches which might not get hit as hard? ie. not south facing? Cheers,

hey guys, I'm nearing the end of building a 25ft yacht out of ply and fiberglass. about to start fiber glassing in the next couple of weeks. has anyone used Qcell much? im going to put 3 coats of matt and resin on the entire thing to waterproof it and stiffen in up a bit. but wondering what i should apply on top of it all to give it that sleek gel coat look. hopefully something cheap.. any help would be awesome. my mate and i have caught a few Aus salmon off the beach now and they have always been on ganged pilchards with a running sinker 1hr either side of low tide.. awesome fish to catch. good luck!

Hi Raiders, New member, first topic so hi to all. I recently got given a boat. 4.5m maxicat with twin 40hp outboards from my grandad who's now getting to old to use it. so i'm new to fishing from boats. took it out last weekend and had a blast. Just wondering if anyone knows anything or has any tips for fishing around lion island on the Hawkesbury? rig, bait, etc. i've heard good things regarding the riverside of the island. any feedback would be great. I recently came back from a few weeks in Cambodia. managed to go fishing with some locals off shore from one of the beaches in sihanoukville. we used line wrapped around old coke bottles with a bit of lead and a rusty hook. used some squid and we pulled in a few different types of fish. rock cod, and what looked like a bream and a few whitting type fish. don't really know the local species... when we returned our drivers mother cooked them whole (head, guts and scales) in a wok of boiling oil and served with rice and soy sauce. was a great experiance!
