Excellent result. What is your downrigging method from the yak?,ive tried from my kayak but cant keep the bait down?

But what I would really love to know is how to catch the small silver biddies. They look absolutely awesome as a live bait,.perhaps have the chance of tempting a lonely hungry Jew.

I found the yakkas at d'albora marina near spit bridge, but got them at first light.they tend to become shy and uninterested once the sun is up.

Interesting to hear the bust offs were when the yakkas were used. I find the trouble with using fresh squid is that every other fish can't resist it either. I was fishing sea forth bluff, possibly I wasn't dragging them around deep enough?

I fished middle harbour this morning for nothing.plenty of yakkas but couldn't turn them into anything.maybe a bit to early in the season for kings coz the water is still cold.

I'm yet to try to catch a luddrick . It does look addictive. Well done . The rock fishing attachment on your shoes you are wearing look like they are removable, if so that's very handy.?

I was just interested to know when the readers and fishers think the best time of year is to catch jewfish in the harbour is? Are the warmer months better?
