  1. Hi Davo, your very question reminds me very much of my own a couple of months back, which youll be able to find on fishraider as well. I to like yourself had many questions, although i bought first without being on one and then test rode later after i purchased, big risk but i had attitude if i not satisfied il resell.. Well i am very pleased to say i will NOT be reselling.. Couldnt be happier with this outfit. I bought the 5.2 with 115 Yammy four stroke, one owner with 300hrs.. Geoff who has responded to your post is a wealth of knowledge so keep in touch with him regarding any concerns you may have as he def helped me. I live in Narooma with a bar to cross which is not for everybody but this boat has me ticking all boxes. I noted my very first run up Nelligan in silk smooth water was a real disapointment but give this boat chop and rough water and it really comes to life. The 115 has more than enough grunt which was a concern at first until ive had it out in blue water and bar to cross, does it with ease. All in all from me. Good luck buddy..
  2. Hi buddy i live in Narooma and at this stage out wide is proving fruitless, comp over weekend wasnt anything to get to excited about fish wise, but in saying this any day now things can change, fingers crossed...
  3. Interesting that. My blinkers do something similar, they work then they dont then they work then they dont then they work, dont, work, dont, work, dont!!
  4. I owned a stessl 5.2mtr cuddy cab which was built back in the 80's immaculate cond and to this day this boat is still around fishing out of Narooma, this is and was one hull that Stessl got right, unfortunately im with you when it came to there tri hulls, was tempted to buy a 6mtr some years back until i rode in it,would of rathered my 4mtr breezabout..As for your plate boat, dont be fooled, theres good and bad in every breed and make of boat, being centre console id imagine your ride in that Formosa would and should be pretty smooth sailing? When you mix water and boats they are all wet within reason, hence why i like my cuddy cabs with clears all round. As for E Tecs have skied behind them and fished from them all with ease, great on fuel, would not hesitate if i one day wanted to repower my cat an E Tec would get a serious look in,in saying this im sure there are guys who would not ever own one,at end of day ive never had a bad experience so they get thumbs from me...
  5. Juggs like you ive always wanted to own my own, have seen them over the years and spoken to guys who own them, and they were all satisfied with outfits (in saying this very rarely does someone be to critical of there own boat). I dont see to many come on second hand market so when i came across this one i jumped at opurtunity,an old saying is curiosity killed the cat and as i never put boat in water before i purchased,as i bought from sydney and driving up from the coast i couldnt wait to get out of the place, will def keep you informed as to rating and thoughts on this outfit Juggs as i not one to give something a wrap if it doesnt deserve so... Cheers mate ive accepted your friend request, your my first mate on raider
  6. Gday Juggs,ok i get the impression your def anti webster, seems to me you either love them or you hate them is impression i getting. I have taken possesion of my outfit and time will tell whether its up to the tasks i have in mind, thanks buddy..
  7. Gday Geoff not sure if previous msg came through. But if you got time for a quick chat on your through let me know champ, will have kettle on the boil as i ten min before you hit maccas...
  8. Hi Geoff youll be pleased to know ive taken ownership of this boat, picked up sat and spent all weekend in my new toy, much to Tanyas delight i stayed out of her way ha ha... Ok buddy i spent all weekend modifying and changing things to suit individual needs,as you mentioned none of these are major but like you by seems of things i want things done right and perfect, and basically user friendly.. Very impressed with boats handling and ride. 10/10 from me...
  9. Geoff your a wealth of knowledge and i takin it all on board thanks mate.. Yes Independant outboards in Blacktown was where boat was purchased in 2003 as well Geoff. I only removed stickers today as looked worn and tired (sorry guys).. Bentstick has got in touch and if you read this post silvo,i apoligise about blank emails as bloody hopeless when comes to forwarding photos on. I cant get pics on fishraider either..Once again Geoff your advice is much appriciated and hopefully will get a pic up of the webster asap for you guys to see. I proud of way she looks and if they handle as well as it looks il be one very happy man.
  10. Gday njconst, wow mate not what i wanted to hear but just the same disapointing so much went wrong with your mates rig. What year model was his? And what was it mainly used for? Thanks buddy for getting in touch, just a bugger about the thumbs post..
  11. Hi nath thanks for your reply, lucky for me boat has clears and side curtains which by sounds of things i def going to need. As for pulling skiier def not from this tub buddy, will only be used as a fishing and diving rig, lucky for me mates own a ski baot .
  12. Hi Geoff your a legend thanks very much champ, will def get in touch with Benttick.. Ive actually laid a deposit down on this outfit Geoff,Ive owned many an outfit ,so am very excited to be hopping in to something different as mine have all been monohulls Geoff. Def is a permatrim fitted to rear Geoff, boat was intially bought back in 2003 one owner from a mob in blacktown..Fuel tank being at rear, plus duel batteries, live bait tank as well,i def need to keep weight if i repower to a minimum. I very rarely see these outfits come on second hand market so i cant let this one slip by as waited to long to get this one..I rarely here negative feedback regarding the websters so i very excited to sort out couple of minor teething problems and get this outfit ready for the tuna season.. Thanks again buddy...
  13. Hi Goeff, thanks very much for your response. I have thouroughly been on every website reading over and over again on posts and comments,i think i have exhausted every avenue.. Boat i tested was immaculate fitted with 115 yamaha four stroke,i found it sluggish and did not want to plane, was fitted with wings,in saying this motor was recently serviced but had trouble at idle,i hoping possible blocked injector perhaps, which obviously would lag HP as lack of fuel.. In saying all this i have always wanted to own this very outfit as love cats and love that single outboard factor. Whats your thoughts Geoff with 115 as in all seriousness im no novice when it comes to Narooma bar but after test drive i aint to sure this rig is performing to its optimum, more so once boat is fully loaded,i like to know ive got that extra gear when needed. My thoughts are possibly 140hp but need to do more research and ask before i commit, regards Dan...
  14. Gday oz brett, can relate to noise mate as test drove in one last week,(second hand) water was reatively flat and yes wasnt to impressed myself at first with noise slappin, boat stepped up a notch once we hit a bit more chop which the boat seemed to respond well with,,i havnt made mind up as yet, still after more info if anyone else can help or possibly get boat in some more rough water,thanks..
  15. Gday raiders, hoping to get thumbs up on new boat purchase 5.2mtr webster. If anyone owns one, negatives, positives etc, thanks guys..
  16. Hi,was wondering if anyone could help or know of where i can purchase new gunnel rubbers for savage lancer 565? This boat has been a ground up rebuild and coming along nicely will get some pics up soon.. Regards Dan...
  17. Hi Buddy sorry should of mentioned in previous msg i couldnt seem to open PM regarding trailer costing,if ok might give you a call if you let me know a suitable time. As for the lancer she had an update of donk as at present has 2002 ficht injection which as yet i still have not had running... Still waiting on marine tech...That aside price of tandem of seaxchange brand was $3500.00 which im keen as mustad if i get the thumbs up,thanks champ...
  18. Huey me again buddy, sorry to be a pain but i have a good one for you that will make ya laugh. Ive been on phone for last few hours talking trailers and motors and lots of other BS to any body who wants to listen( joking) Anyway mate this very boat i got was actually originally purchased from you back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I was measuring total length of boat and staring me in the face is your sticker "Huett marine" Cowan. Talk about a grand laugh,so mate looks like your gunna have to do a great deal on the LS 5.7m-13TB Dunbier ha ha,since you made a good whack from original sale and some things should remain close to your heart :-). All jokes aside though any reports on Seatrail trailers champ? Two grand cheaper but quality surely has to be sacrificed somewhere along the line i would imagine. Il send through hull identification AU-SAV00060G797 any info would be great, thanks buddy....
  19. HUEY THIS BOAT IS IN THE BAG BUDDY,I BOUGHT IT BEFORE I POSTED ON WEBSITE,IT GOT DELIVERED ON TILT TRAY LAST WEEK 10PM AND MUCH TO TANYAS DISGUST I WAS ALREADY CHOMPING AT THE BIT EAGER TO STRIP HER DOWN.(THE BOAT NOT TANYA HA HA) DONT LET HER KNOW I SAID THAT BUDDY.. OUT OF CURIOSITY WOULD YOU MIND SENDING THROUGH A PRICE OF THAT REDCO YOU MENTIONED CHEERS MATE...
  20. Huey thanks mate for your reply. This boat has been completly gutted inside and out, happy with alloy under flooring and very much looking forward to having this girl on the water but we are far from that stage yet. I quite enjoy the transformation stages of buying run down tired alloy boats and turning them into a fishing boat your not ashamed to own.. Although ive owned many a boat and ridden in many more,i have never been inside the model i own now,i owned the smaller version being a savage osprey cuddy cab quite a few years back. This boat was a liitle beauty and a real credit to savage being a whole heap of 4.88mtrs it gave you a false sense of being behind the wheel of a much larger vessel. I had no hesitation crossing Narooma bar in this boat, boys i had fish with me were dumb founded to its sea handling capabilties remembering its only 16ft.. Anyway all that aside Huey thanks again for your response,i have organised for a marine tech to sus this motor out. This guy has worked on a few of my boats and i trust his opinion and quality of work.. If he gives me thgumbs down on donk thats my bad luck and what was a good buy can turn very over priced quickly but a risk i was prepared to take none the less. In mean time il keep hunting down for a trailer and most likely end up buying new tandem. In saying this and with your experience Huey, have or do you know if a single axle would suffice for this boat,i prefer a single, only reason being less maintance but if duelies the way to go then im prepared to head there as well, thanks again, regards Dan.
  21. Hi guys i have recently purchased a savage lancer 565 sp,needs work but ive been down this path before, god only knows why.. This outfit is mated to an evinrude 115 ficht tech injection, which ive been told by a few people they werent much chop. Ive also red that the later models were a dream motor with minimal problems. Thanks...
