  1. I thought I'd just get this off my chest!!! I was fishing down from my place under Alfords Point bridge last Sunday between 6 and 9 pm and didn't get even one bite.. nothing.... Well feeling a bit let down by this I was just about to go and these two guys turn up and start to drag net the beach area... I was not impressed but being on me own and in a dark isolated part of the river I just swore to meself and trudged back home.... No wonder there is no fish in the river.... What can be done to stop this... I feel better now WG....
  2. ... Never heard of Brown Rock.. where abouit is it and how do you get there... I'm always looking for a new spot around that area... Cheerss.. WG
  3. Cheers... I'll try the stovking and chook pellets with tuna oil.. I'm me won't mind and I'll return them as good as new... Never know she may attract something else after I have finished with them!!
  4. Look at this one for size!!! (not mine jst a pic I found on the net) It said that it was 123cm and 10.8Kgs.... me mouth is watering!!!
  5. Found this info on the Caltex 'Find the right oil" site (www.caltex.com.au) EVINRUDE 175.0 h.p. 175 V-6 FICHT (1998-2002) Motor SUPER OUTBOARD 3 (See Note 29, 40) Gearcase SYNSTAR GL 75W-90 (See Note 48) NOTES 29 Manufacturer recommends the use of "OMC FICHT RAM Injection Oil". 40 Fitted with Electronically Controlled Direct Injection (FICHT), put recommended lubricant in oil reservoir. 48 May also use THUBAN GL5 EP 80W-90. Power tilt/trim units or power steering, use TEXAMATIC 1888 or AUTOTRANS FLUID IID. Looks like Caltex make something that fits the bill. Cheers WG
  6. On the risk of sounding a bit foolish, can someone explain the best way to burley for land based fishing. I have heard (not tried) that you can get a can of cheap cat food, punch some holes in the tin, tie a line around it and throw it in... Sounds a bit well Any other ideas? and what is best stuff to use? Cheers WG
  7. Just to report back in on Ramsgate Beach..... Nothing but baby lizards like less than 12 cm!!! But as it goes I did land something unusual though... A fishing rod!!! I mean I hooked a rod that must have fallen out of a boat or what ever and I snaged it!!! I'ff give that one to the wife, she'll never know!! Anyway... I live in Padstow Heights on the otherside of River to Lugarno but I grew up in Lugarno so I know it well.... and i do know a good blackfish hole at the bottom of Valentia Avenue, but you need to be a good rock climber to get to it.....
  8. Thanks Swordfisherman..... I am going to try Ramsgate beach tomorrow morning so I'll have a report on the catch ( I hope ) .
