  1. I used to fish a bit at Cremorne Point years ago. Not on the wharf, but right at the end of the point near the little lighthouse. Just walk through the park and then down the ladder to get there. Used to catch some nice sized flatties, trevally and snapper at the lighthouse. However, the last few times I went there, everything I caught was undersize. Love the scenery there though!
  2. Wow congratulations and well done! A stickface on your first attempt, lucky you! How far off the heads was that?
  3. What an absolute monster! Well done!
  4. Well done! Seems so easy when the fish are on like that doesn't it.
  5. Congratulations and well done! Marlin on the maiden voyage - might be a lucky boat! Can I follow you around haha
  6. Thanks for the report and awesome photos! After seeing the photos of the jackets, I can see how jigging while they're around is so futile!
  7. Great report, got yourself a decent feed there! Better luck next time with the big flatties. What length do you think they were?
  8. There were plenty of Dollies out there on Sunday. They were hitting everything - livies, pillies, even jigged up a few of them. Try targeting them if you're going out again soon.
  9. Thanks for the report and great pics! It's good to know there's something out there thinning the leather jacket population
  10. Thanks for the reports, that was a good read. Wish I could fish for a week straight! Interesting observations too regarding the moon phase and Kings cruising through the yakkas. Would love to hear the thoughts of more experienced fishos. I've heard the theory before about the falling barometer slowing down the bite. Apparently has to do with the pressure affecting the fish's organs such as swim bladder and stomach. i.e falling barometer compresses the fishes organs, making them less hungry while a rising barometer results in less pressure on their organs, expanding the stomach and making them more likely to feed.
  11. A misses who asks to go fishing, and in the rain as well! Wow, she's a keeper
  12. Congratulations! You'll remember that catch for ages, enjoy the high
  13. Well done, got yourself a nice feed there. Aussie Salmon smoked is not too bad as well!
  14. Do you only want to fish off the rocks? How about fishing from the beach? It's safe and you can catch pretty much everything from the sand depending on your set-up.... Bream, Flathead, Jewfish, Australian Salmon, Tailor, Sharks.... You'll need a beach rod but you can get those pretty cheap. Go early morning or late afternoon, learn how to find gutters and use fresh or live bait if possible. Good luck!
  15. Thanks for the update, nice fish there. I went for a jig last week at the Peak and got jacketed on the first drop so moved on to twelve mile. Had no real issues with jackets there. Didn't catch much there either though haha, apart from a decent bonnie.
