You dont have to go to far to shark fish. You could sit in the middle of broken bay heads to catch them.                             This time of year you will get pups inshore, mainly makos threshers and hammers usually between 10-40kg. The bigger females generally give birth after the gemfish season.                                      Burley wise, much the same as rick said, just make sure its constant. You can have them at the boat in 5 min or 5 hrs lol. Beer comes in handy.                      As for numbers of rods out we run 2 both on ballons. One set closer to the boat the other set up to 50-100M back.    And you are not a true shark fisherman if you dont swim to the closet balloon and back after 2 hrs lol

Ha ha' thanks for the info guys. Where is the best place to get large amounts of burley......fish markets?

  2. Im seriously thinking of having a crack at sharks this season of Broken Bay.  A couple of the many questions I have is for those that fish over the shelf for sharks.  Is there a prefered depth or is it manily dependent on your burley, and the second Q, do you guys turn your engine off, or do you keep it running all day considering how far off shore you are.  Thanks in advance.

  3. Hey guys, looking at the weather for the weekend and trying to figure out which is the best day to head out. I'm thinking Saturday is the pick at this stage. What does everyone else think. What Raiders are heading out this weekend and on. Which day. We will concentrate ourselves around the bait station.

  4. Went Out last Tuesday to what I thought was the Bait Station. I used the marks that I was given by NaCIH2OK9, and others I found online were the same. When we got there...the marks only had us in 80 fathams......is that right. I thought it was over the shelf. In any case there was nothing there so we kept heading east out to about the 200fa line and then zig-zagged north untill we eventually pinned a Striped Marlin

Do I have the right marks, because I have heard of others talking about the Bait Station in 400fa...Im very confused.

Any help appreciated, im heading back out on Monday.

    Noel.
