Disregard my last- I spoke to Navico and sent them a few pictures ans spent 2 hours on the phone with them. None of their Techs had ever seen anything like this, so they are replacing the unit. Nice bunch of Guys and very helpful.

I agree, there is nothing better than see a fish swim off. You can always do what I did- After a tag and release I approached a Guy who already had moulds of Marlin in the size I caught (80kg in my case) so I had two wins, a marlin on the wall and a fish to swim free.

Your right mate, and until someone mentions something else, I guess Browns is the place to be. Heatons? I'm sure there are a lot of Professional Crews that have that little X spot. It's all good.

I think we.......as all responsible fishos, do the right thing anyway, I know I do. I think evolution looks after it self in some way- Lets hope anyway.

Weekend Warrior ????, I do my 70hrs a week, If the weekend is the only time I get to go to Browns...........well I'm one of them. I'm not as lucky as most that can fish when ever they want. Isn't it about limits and conservation. If you get 71 on the weekend and 200 throughout the week over the other 5 days of the week, isn't that the same! Bag limits! That's what they are there for. Can't control how many people Bag out. FYI......I take 1.

I tend to agree David, I am going to stick to the normal style tabs.
-
I do agree David, you can get these tabs for boats up to 30ft.

Just wanted to get your thoughts on these trim tabs- Nauticus Smart Tabs SX Series.
We are going to put some Tabs on the Hunstman, but in my surfing of the internet I came across these. Just want some thoughts.

I got a quote for the "fake Teak" from a Aus supplier and it came in a do it yourself kit. The product alone without the glue was $290 per s/ metre. Was going to cost me nearly 3k with all materials I needed. I'll stick with the carpet.Have you looked at the fake teak?
Also maybe take a wander through Clark Rubber

We went Browns last weekend from Roseville in a Surtees 6.1 Gamefisher. Trolled around brown cubed, caught a 150 mako. Then trolled south east for about 12 miles then back home, a few mac tuna on the way home. The boat was great no problems, felt really safe used 73 litres for the whole day. So you should be ok.
Thats awesome economy, what size and type of engine.
We went wide today for a donut. The furthest point was about 7nm north east of Heatons and covered 210klms for the day. Saw a leaping mako, massive dolphins and some whales. No sbt though. Had a great time anyway. Get out there mate. If you choose your day right and are well prepared, there are quite a few boats your size out there doing it safely. Mine is 6.8m.
Pardon my ignorance erroll, but on that map are the units in feet or metres.
