  1. Cheers guys, basically drifted from the first lot of oyster leases down near the boat ramp
  2. Gday guys hit the creek yesterday with my brother chasing up some flathead after cleaning up on blackfish the last few trip. Anyway headed up stream and drifted all day managed 6 keeper flatties all round 40-50cms and I thought i was onto another untill i saw a massive whiting surface next 2 the boat, at this stage it had done nothing but that all changed when it saw the boat then it screamed off straight into the snags and didnt my stomach drop ! anyway after a few long screams of the reel it submerged and my brother landed it in the net and we all no that feeling of relief. Threw it on the brag mat and it went 42cms. Very pleased with the catch. I have caught many whiting before but never around this size, is this very big for a Sydney whiting ? I am awaiting the pic in the email from my brother so i can upload the photo.
  3. yeah caught the whiting at north entrance beach just lobbing out into a nice gutter with nice light line. Threw them back because I kept 5 from the day before from the same spot. I just bought the worms from the local tackle barn, they where only $2 a worm and they where massive worms, there are bugger all worms to be caught there on the beach. the lake was empty about 3 weeks ago in the middle of the holidays but luckily didn't take long to recover. Plenty of flathead to be caught on soft plastics, also saw an older lady catching some nice flatties on local caught prawns. I have released many big flatties in the last few weeks and have caught many tiny baby flatties only an inch long in the lakes mouth on worms soo its good to see the lake is coming back to life.
  4. Gday guys, went out today with some live beach worms and some light tackle chasing some whiting. Fished for about an hour and ended up with 7 whiting all over 30cms with the biggest one going 35cms. went home and had some lunch then busted out the kayak in the Entrance lake with some soft plastics for some flathead. Straight away onto a nice 44cm specimen, ended up with 6 flatties with the biggest being 57cms. Threw them all back even the whiting to fight another day. Just out for the fun of it. Great days fishing, Pics to come.
  5. Caught them in The Entrance Lake all on gulp soft plastics, minnows where working well
  6. Gday guys, went out Sunday and Monday for a flick with a mate chasing some flathead, ended up with about 30 between us, kept a couple for the BBQ. All caught on soft plastics, Biggest one went 59cms all the others where around 44cm and a few undersized ones. great session. All caught on the drift in the kayaks
  7. Drifted for the flatties in the channel near Molineaux Point near the channel markers, got the kingy at the drums and the jew on the drift near Towra. The bigger flatties where 67cms and smallers ones around 50cm.They where on like donkey kong ! the kingy was 76cms, got busted off a few times by kings, werent prepared for them only using light gear. Was an awsome day
  8. yarramundi and North Richmond mainly using surface poppers like cicadas or "the bat".
  9. Caught this one on a yakka on the drift, not huge but its my first jew so im stoked, also picked up a few nice flatties on fresh squid and a kingy, good day out!
  10. Been getting out in my kayak a bit this week chasing some bass around The Hawkesbury, picked up a few nice ones ranging from 32cms to 37cms. heaps of smaller ones around but they are all good fun, ill try and post sum pics but i can never get them to work.
  11. Gday guys Im heading up to Airlie Beach on Thursday for 4 days and definatley going to wet a line. Has anyone fished there before. If so how was it? we are just landbasing it off the breakwall. I believe this is a decent spot.
  12. Mate i have fished Hargraves heaps of times and alwwya end up catching a bunch of salmon. My mate actually landed an double header of salmon using 2 droppers with gang hooks and pilchards on a paternocsa. This rig works really well for me.i usually find it fires up at around 9am 4 some reason. And make sure u only use the size sinker u need, dnt have 2 throw out an anchor and use line around 20lb , no heavier.
  13. Cheers guys, yeah a jew would be nice and I realise they are a hard species to target. Im happy with whatever really, using plenty of different baits and soft plastics. Ill b out there to try again this week 4 sure.
  14. Gday guys, a mate and I have been going out a fair bit nit night fishing in hope of a jew. We fished Clontarf reserve for 9 hours and produed 1 decent flatty going 57cm to a live bait. Fished Roseville bridge from 6pm to 3am with live yakkas and fresh squid and caught 1 pinky going 29cms and a whiting going 39cm to a squid strip. Also fished Bradley street wharf all night and didnt get anything.Have fished just about every wharf in Sydney Harbour. What am i doing wrong, using live baits and fresh squid and prawn but just cant seem to produce any fish, Putting in plenty of hours and long nights but its not happening.Im thinking bout giving Clifton Gardens a go, I hear its not a bad spot at times. O well thats fishing, try again next week.If anybody wants to help me out with a decent landbased spot that would be great. I no its like asking 4 the winning lottery numbers but ill take what I can get. Thanks heaps fellas.
  15. Gday raiders, a mate and i went out last week chasing some squid at Terrigal Haven but ended up loosing 2 jigs 2 the rocks,(1 costing $35) we are new to squidding and are unsure where to cast out, also tried Batteau Bay round at Cabbage Tree reserve but conditions where a bit windy. If anyone could point me in the right direction as where to go to get a couple of squid that would be greatley appreciated.Where abouts in Terrigal Haven, Batteau Bay, Norah Head? Thanks a lot
  16. Gday me and a mate went down Hargraves beach last Tuesday chasing some Salmon with great sucess. Threw out our ganged pillies and managed 10 between us ranging from 58cm to 72cm. Must be some bronze whailers lurking around as nearly half the fish we landed had bite marks or chunks out of them.I have many photos but can never seem to post them as it always says the file is too big and i know bugger all about computers but if anyone can help me out with this problem that would be great as i have soo many good fishing pics 2 upload
  17. Gday guys looking to head out for a fish this Sunday night around Rose Bay and not sure of any landbased spots.I have looked on google earth and there is a few wharves around the Sydney Seaplane wharf but i am not sure if you are allowed to fish these. I will be headed out late Sunday night and battling the cold in hope of a jew.Any help is greatley appreciated. Cheers Raiders
  18. Gday mate im heading up the coast 2morrow 4 a fish 4 a few days, try North Entrance right out the front of the beach track, there is usually a pretty good gutter there, Like the others r saying Hargraves is a good spot but is very buisy most times, Also try using live beach worms from the tackle shop for whiting and jews etc. At the Entrance fish out the front of the lake where it joins the beach, this is also a great spot. This time of year u have to find the gutters so go down at low tide and find a gutter and mark it with a stick or landmark so u can find it easily at high tide and throw out sum ganged pillies for salmon. my mate and i have been cleaning up on them the last week. also sum big flatties lurking in the gutters and tailor too. Hope this helps u out buddy. goodluck
  19. Thanks a lot for the input, ill definatley be giving it a go soon.
  20. Gday Raiders Im a Windsor fella heading down Wisemans Ferry for a night fish in the hope of landing myself a jewy. 22. Gday Raiders. went out last week for a night fish targeting jews at Jeffreys street wharf, managed a few livies and all was looking good, before i knew it i was sharing the wharf with 20 other people.Tangled lines and fighting to keep my spot ruined it.Anyway if anyone can help me out with a decent spot around Sydney to fish for jewies and maybe a yakka spot i would greatley appreciate it, will be fishing at night .Thanks heaps for any help u can offer .
