  1. I go down there just about every day for lunch and always walk past the bridge, although it's currently got a fence around it. The fish are always there, today I saw three guys feeding them. There are also see a few schools of big mullet as well. Would love to hook up those bream on light tackle for some fun.
  2. Damn, was planning on heading to Blamoral tomorrow morning. Looks like I need a plan B.
  3. Thanks for the reminder. It's also disappointing they won't allow us to use mullet above 15cm for live bait. I find live mullet are better than yakkas for kings. On several occasions I've actually gone out of my way to lug in some live mullet when I could have caught yakkas onsite. I find mullet are irresistible to kings. This I might add is going back 15 years or more. Besides, what's the logic behind not allowing us to catch mullet above 15cm for live bait? I mean who even targets mullet for the table anyway? I don't really understand because personally I can't see it having any impact on mullet stocks if they just retain bag limits and do away with sizes in this case.
  4. I'm glad to hear that Steve looked well. O'doherty sounds familiar, Father and Son team at central? I remember buying Storm lures (Little Mac & Big Mac) from them along with other terminal tackle. Nivens must have been on Campbell st. I learned how to tie the Bimini from a guy that worked at Fishemans World, and have been using it ever since. He also showed me a spot just south of Rosa gully (he called it the block). Perfect fishing platform but very difficult to get to.
  5. The nostalgia thread South Sydney bait & Tackle (Steve Davies) now that guy really knew his stuff. I wonder what he's doing these days. I still have 3 rods that I purchased over the years from him. One being a 2nd hand G-Loomis, and a few blanks that I build myself. I also have a Shimano Speed Master that I purchase from Bluefin Sports when originally at Hurstville, was on sale for a really good price. Harbord Tackle was like the Lamborghini showroom of tackle stores. Those Finnor game reels were quite a site.
  6. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried any of the digital fishing scales that are selling on online shop? They are a little on the cheap side, which is a concern, some selling for as little as $3.65 delivered. I intend on using it for setting my drag pressure. What do people use/recommend? Ideally it should be able to capture maximum weight. Thanks John.
  7. I went for a wonder down there today actually and had a few casts with a variety of lures. It was during the middle of the day, which could account for the lack of fish. I didn't berley either as I just wanted to explore. This was a location I considered last time I visited Clifton Gardens a few months back when I went for a walk along the track and could see some promising spots. Coincidentally I too revisited Google maps over the last couple of days. Getting to the location is a little tricky but I was able to find some paths through the shrubs off the main walking track. I used google maps (satellite view) on my mobile to point me in the right direction. There are a handful of rock ledges that can be fished and the water looks to be quite deep. Just to clarify, I fished the eastern facing side of this headland. I think live ones should do well there.
