  1. OK...I have edited a couple of posts in this thread mentioning different ethnic origins.

Let's be clear here..We WILL NOT TOLERATE any racist views on these forums...period!!

While no one has pointed the finger on any particular race or ethnic background...we don't want

to highlight any particular enthnicity being better or worse at rock fishing.

    THIS THREAD IS NOW CLOSED!

    Pete.

  2. G'day Ritchie,

Here is some further reading with an FAQ on dioxins in the harbour from the NSW Food Authority.

Ross is correct with the latest release on dioxin pollution in the harbour being Dec 2007...Nothing

    released since then.

It seems to come down to a "personal risk" thing at the moment with the Govt. warning consumers on the limits they agree is safe to eat and where their testing showed higher levels.

I'll try and get some more info from the Govt. and see if they are going to issue any more up to date data.

Personally, I wouldn't eat anything west of the harbour Bridge, but that's just me.

Hope this helps you understand the ongoing saga.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  3. Looks like we just bought a boat so now need to fill it with all sorts of expensive things.

    Cheers guys.

You sure you aren't the Mother of Invention???

Now..if only you could scale back an Etec for Ross...I'm sure he'd be happy

with "Up Ya Go...a Bit" :074:

    Well done Ma'am.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

BTW..The Navy wants to buy an aircraft carrier...can you help there??? :074:

  5. as a dermatologist I have read with interest this thread and am impressed by the proposed diagnoses and level of knowledge of fellow fishermen. Sandfly bite rashes range from minor itchy spots to florid weepy, extensive eruptions. I have had to treat the latter patients with courses of oral steroids, in addition to antihistamine tablets and steroid creams. Whenever I'm holidaying on the north or south coast I pack a tube of steroid cream in case of sandfly bites. The same will also help for swimmers itch (also called pelican itch and clam digger's itch) and seabather's eruption (from immature jellyfish stings amongst other things).

Thank you Rob for a professional perspective on this ailment.

Isn't it great that Fishraider members have such a wide array of professions and skills with one thing in common....we all love fishing.

Thanks again for clearing up the problem once and for all.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  6. Great session boys and a fine mixed bad of excellent table fish.

Must have been a welcome change from chasing beakies all day just to do some leisurely

drifts and picking up a fine feed.

Well done landing that kingy on bream gear..must have been touch and go for a while I bet.

    Nice report and pics.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  7. Well done ceph..it gets easier from here on.

    Glad you are addicted

I bet you are like me...FR is the first site you go to when you fire up the pc. Then you really

    know you are addicted :1prop:

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  8. Hi Pete, How'd your turn of the tide session go? Any Joy?

G'day Adrian...The only thing at Pipeclay today was pelican poo and pickers :1badmood:

Could not raise a flattie to save myself. Tried every placcie in the arsenal for a big fat donut!

I looked at the barometer just before I left and it had dipped to 1007 and I reckon that had a lot to do with

the fishless session. I never get fish when it's that low.

The wind was pretty fierce too surprisingly as it was calm as at my house as I left.

    Still....beats working.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  9. Going to hit Pipeclay Point in Narra Lake in a few minutes if anyone wants to join me for a landbased session.

Tide should be turning about midday and usually produces well on the runout.

Going to use plastics to chase flatties as i couldn't be bothered with bait today.

I'll be there around Noon if anyone wants to throw some rubber about.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  10. Excellent report again Byron and well done to you, Esky and Julius and what sounded

like a good allnighter. Nice pics too.

Shame about the pack being just out of reach but there's always next time.

Byron, you sure know how to read the conditions and very kind to share that knowledge with fellow raiders.

Glad Little Jewgaffer had a great birthday.

    Cheers

    Pete.

  11. Sensational outing Grant :yahoo:

Aren't they healthy looking bass as well and fat as fools....must be full of Easter eggs :074: .

The dam is really firing now and yesterday must have been an exceptional day

moon phase wise or something as I had the same thing at Narra where the fish were

just biting their heads off...and Yakfishing also experienced the bream going nuts yesterday too.

Hope it stays like this for a while now but by the looks of the barometer..it aint gonna last long. Currently 1011

    Great session and fine pics.

    Cheers,

    Pete.
