  1. Have been looking at the fishing reports lately and not many reports to do with any one catching kings in the harbour or just outside, this time last year it was fireing, there was some good reports a couple of weeks ago but none of late have they swam off ?????????????

  2. Gday mate well done hope you & the rest of the family had a good time I love Foster I grew up there & go back every couple of years with my family for a holiday & they love it. Im a bit jelous about your Xmas cause I had to work through the Xmas period but what a way to spend it at foster & fishing, hey i love the pumpkin seed colour in lures for flaties it realy works a treat for them. Say hi to the rest of the family for me & Lisa, cheers mate & keep those lines tight champ

  3. Top stuff champ great to hear the kings are starting to fire, right on cue. Will be heading there on Monday if the weather holds up with the same plan, was trawling yakas the same way as you were doing but inside the harbour without much succses 2weeks ago with kingfish on my mind. I would love to run out of live bait as you did as it has been a while since that happened COMON THE KINGS

  4. Fish farming would be the go, I know you cant farm all fish species but we need to do something as some places are nearly fish free around the world because of over fishing & not managed properly. I have fished Sydney harbour before & after the Pros were kicked out, & the place has bounced back with a heap of fish & keeps getting better every year since, so I now only fish the harbour. The Hawksbury would one of the best fishing destinations in Australia if that were to happen in my opinion, I know that is there job & they may have familys to feed but get another job & as for the do gooddin Greens get your facts right & your heads on as we reco fishers take bugger all fish compared to the PROS & do no where near the damage they cause with there trawlers to the marine environment. Just one last thing opinions are like as!h!les everyones got one & thats just my opinion

  5. Some nice trevs there Mui Mui

Sounds like a great day on the water. Plenty of action even if some fish were the wrong species.

I'd heard how some pet owners look like their pets, but it's the first time I've seen a fisherman look like their catch! (However, a few unkind people have suggested a resemblance between me and the flathead I catch! :( )

  6. Mate was out there yesterday aswell in my quinnie 4.7 ive never seen it so calm I think the swell inside the harbour was bigger, your right it was like glass out there. We were able to cruise at 40kph up to the wrecks off Narrabeen only took about 20mins or so to get there from the heads it was that flat. The wrecks were a little bit dissapointing managed a heap of undersized snapper with only one keeper, a nice mowie, two nice travelly & a heap of sweep, we didny keep the sweep. On the way back had a go at chasing some tunar i think they were stripes not real sure couldnt get closer enough & when we did they wouldny eat our metals. Then we headed down south off Bondi to have a drift, managed a gernard,a salmon the first ive ever caught on a paternosta rig, a leather jacket heaps of undersized flatties & the best fish of the day was my 55cm Flattie yum yum. On our way home by 2oclock, I dont know where the salmon schools all went maybe the dolphins ate them all as someone posted some footage the other day at Nth Head. WHAT a DAY

  7. Hi Dazzlar,

Im new in boating and forgive me for asking dumb question? What is "bommie" or "bonnie" or "bonny"? Can't find answer from my iphone dictionary. Sounds like bommie is sort of White water area near the rocks? Pls correct me if wrong.

    Cheers Phil

Mate theres some good answers there that should clear up what your asking, always take care on the water, no fish is worth ones life & one very important safety investment is an auto inflateable life jacket i dont go on the water without it now owened it for a year now. Im pretty sure you need one if boating by yourself its legastration on NSW waters now. You dont want to be KOd in that situation thats how people drown, it will inflate by itself when you hit the water. Mate anymore questions I can help with dont hesatate to ask i will gladley try & help out. I still remember that day of ours like it was yesterday, we were able to point the boat towards the wave & give it some before it broke unlike Antres unlucky wave. Always keep an eye on the sea.

    Cheers Brother

  8. Mate you escapped with your life luckily. There is a bad bommie that comes out from nowhere near the point so everyone beware. We fished Longreef last Monday & wouldnt go anywhere near the bommie only the nothern side & not too close. 6years ago nearly had the same fate in a friends boat but were just lucky enough to go over the wave before it broke, caught some cracking tailor out of the bommie on that day when we nearly got caught on that wave i Will never forget it, so im glad your all right mate better the boat than your life cheers

  9. Mate try Nth harbour around Middle heads to cliffton gdns, was out there yesterday & a couple of schools are breaking the surface they are pretty shy of the boat & dont stay in the one place too long hope that helps good luck champ

  10. Mate hang in there It will happen. I was on the water a week ago Monday caught heaps mostly Rats, went out there today only caught a bonnie on the troll, went to all my usual kingy haunts only really fond some at two spots but couldnt get any. We tried downrigging, trolling, lures the only thing we didntd do is use live bait. I think the fish were a bit shut down, dont know if it had to do with the southly buster or not but put the effort in.I could go on & on but If you find structure & current you should find them eventually, just a matter of what they might chew on.Keep on trying & put a little time into it, it will happen. cheers mate hope u get one soon.
