  1. HI all in two weeks heading back to one of my favourite get aways PT Stephens usually stay at soldiers point but this time Shoal bay it is. Will be land based and lures only just wondering apart from the usual bread and butter estuary species any small pelagics inhabit the area at this time of year(will avoid the rockfishing mostly as the kids will be with me).I checked the link on fishraider to the marine park and am I right in saying there are no restrictions land based.Any advise always appreciated and tight lines to all.

  2. Havent personally but a mate of mine has and has got similar results as you mentioned above minus sharks and bonnies. He uses frozen servo bait pillies on gang hooks. As always if you source quality bait the more chance of better class of fish.He also mentioned he found high tide the prime time and the northern side of the inlet was the go not sure how far up the beach though.Good luck mate lovely part of the coast.

  3. The basin is an awesome spot particularly after dark.I always use my yak now so fish further downstream im getting a bit lazy for the steep walks out around kentlyn.Just be mindful i know a few blokes who have had vehicles broken into there.

  4. Hey mate fish the river myself are you landbased. The river tends to throw up a lot of fish on the smaller side of 30cm better size fish tend to be downstrem towards glenfield. When the sun gets high i find small floating shallow diving hard bodies in orange/gold work well cast tight to structure they will often get hit on the surface, let sit for 10 seconds after casting if no enquiries begin a slow retrieve sort of gives you two bites at the cherry maybe the bass get interested as these lures imitate goldfish which are in the river (but shouldnt be).Good luck hope the big bass find you soon.

  5. Hi just wondering if anyone has given this line a crack.I do most of my luring with straight through quality mono or flouro and interested to here of any feedback on this product.

  6. Hi rabbitohs boat ramp at belgennys has a locked council boom gate, locked every time i go easy to launch a yak there though.Ive only seen one tinny launched at Camden in recent years a little ten footer on trolley wheels launched at macquarie grove reserve another good yak launch spot.

  7. Had the arvo to myself so i thought it was time to have my first crack at the bass this season. Not enough time to get out the yak so bush bashing it was and of i went to a new location id been sussing on google maps.Knew when i got to the river id have to cross and cover some ground to reach my spot.On arrival I couldnt wait to get casting it looked great ,selected a lure, attatched reel to the reel seat then when I went to put my rod together realised I had the wrong top half.OUCH.I reckon i stood there dumbfounded for about 5 minutes before i thought better get something out of it and sussed out some more fishy areas on foot before i went home sheepishly without firing a blow in anger.
