[Eastern suburbs fishing]

Heh Heh that is one odd looking Trevally Looks more like a Bream and a whopper at that, 2 kilos i think but i am at work and the screen at work is on it's last legs.

How'd you cook it up?

[Fussy squid]

I store my 2 dollar Ray's outdoors budget squid jigs with my block of pilchards so they absorb up all the vomit inducing smells and they work a treat for the missus. At times she out fishes me with my Yo-Zuri's.

But my best lure is the threaded yakka, has yet to fail me

[Squid for Bait]

If the Rats are about then those bought squids might be okay but the freshies are best. If you can't get the squid just stock up on the yakkas.

[Prawning Tonight]

Been having good runs down at Lake Illawarra, size is decent and been averaging 4-5 kilos everytime i go.

Also if you're into the Blue Swimmer crabs they've been plentiful as well.

[Beach Worming and sustainability]

Just out of curiosity,

Has anyone ever farmed these worms?

Would it be feasible?

The demand for these worms are ridiculous during the summer break when the whitings are on the run. I see people muscling other people out of the way just so they secure a bag for a days fishing and when the bait store runs out they put up a sign "Worms will be available after 5pm when the driver comes back from Stocktons". This from a bait store down in Windang, 15 mins from Wollongong, 3.5 hours from Newcastle. Lucky for me i don't mind using the plastics or the frozen prawns as i am only there for the fun but back when i was a kid looking for worms, all i had to do was to go over to the local beach and pull me a few, guess the local beaches have been over wormed. Same goes for the nippers and them other worms (the red ones) that you pump. The spots that i used to gather bait have been depleted except for a few secret spots, there are not many places left to go and it looks more and more likely that plastics will become the norm.

Good investment if farming is feasible.

Have been trolling the web for a decent forum to join and hey presto here i am

I'm a 34yo male who spends most of his fishing time on the rocks or the estuaries, haven't really done much boating as yet and want to save that for later on when a kid pops into existance.

My main hangs are down south way in the Illawarra and the months gone by have been spectacular.
