  1. Yeah, I do remember reading about them in a Greg French book. And now that I recall I think the females are preferred for the reason that they don't look to spawn. He also detailed the process of obtaining female only eggs - they feed female fish food with testosterone so they produce milt with only X chromosomes, and use that milt to produce an all female batch of eggs. Quite interesting!
  2. Do triploid trout not have the urge to spawn? I thought they were just infertile, correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. That's awesome! I stayed in Denerau at the beginning of this year with my girlfriend and brought a 6wt fly rod, but it never saw daylight! I didn't even think of the creeks either, I was just planning on fishing the flats. Starting to make me annoyed that I didnt bother!
  4. Hi all, I'm looking for an outfit for casting 5-9 inch stickbaits (slug-go's and gulp jerk shads) and poppers around the Sydney Harbour marker buoys. It has to be able to handle 70cm plus kings. I've got a 3-6kg rod and it just doesn't like casting those bigger plastics. My budget is about $400 for the rod and reel. I had in mind a 6-10kg stick paired with a 5000 or 6000 sized reel. This is what I've been looking at: T-Curve Revoloution Offshore 702 SW Spin (2.13metres 5-10kg 10-40g) Pflueger Trion SP722H (7ft2 6-10kg) Shimano Spheros or Stradic. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. PS does anyone have a method of converting the Daiwa sizes to Shimano?
