  1. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone can help out with pointing me in the right direction of getting a nature boy rod case from an Australian retailer. Doesn't seem to be anyone that has this that I know of. Thanks, Michael
  2. We should trade next time we meet - bream for flattie!
  3. Hey Roylo, Thanks - I will drop by Compleat at Villawood to see if they have it in stock - and yes I do know what you mean, I'm a fan of nitro rods, got the powerbream and magnum butt and i understand what you mean about under rating. they have a lot of grunt. I ask the boys in the store tomorrow. Thanks gents, have a nice weekend - tight lines
  4. Sounds good! Thanks for that Blood Knot, I've got a Shimano Bio Master 4000 XG 6.2 to 1 sitting at home, looks like won't have to get another reel to match it. Superb!!!
  5. Looking at getting a new rod for the stones, was looking at this rod : Nitro Rockstar 10-20kg, 10' http://www.innovatorrods.com/nitro-rockstar.html Anyone own this rod? Any feedbacks? Just wondering what size reel would suit this would a 4000 be too small? Will be heading to a tackle store this weekend to check the rod out. Any suggestions would be welcomed!
  6. Hi, was looking at getting a Shimano Shorespin 9' rod - just wondering what's a good reel to match it (budget say $100 to $150 in the shimano / daiwa range)? I've got a Stradic 8000 and an Daiwa Emcast Sport 4500 at the moment? Would these reels be ok for this rod? Looking at using the outfit with 15-20lb braid to toss lures. All feedback and recommendations would be appreciated - thanks.
  7. That's the Spirit !!!!! I am definitely going to wet the line this weekend. Gonna hunt down a nice land based sheltered spot.
  8. WELL DONE !! That is one hell of a king ! You are one lucky man - especially when your wife lets you out fishing every week ! Wish I was that lucky
  9. Hey Mate, Like I mentioned earlier - just trying to get a word out to other raiders, so if they do bump into a bunch of people they can be a bit cautious, 10 -15 blokes that aren't shy of cutting other peoples lines aren't the most gentle people in the world - and 10 - 15 blokes aint real descriptive. So like I said its just a warning to raiders that venture out to Windang for a bit of landbased fishing. And mate, I am an Aussie of Asian origin, just looking out for fellow fishos out there. Regards, Michael
  10. Gday Raiders Looking at investing into a kayak myself to get away from the crowds, and to access some nice areas of the bays and lakes I fish. Just wondering only paddled in a kayak when on holidays at resorts, how is the stability of the yaks when hooked on something decent?? I am thinking of getting a 2 seater, to take the missus as well, 2 / 4 boat rod holders, etc usual fisho gear / attachments...... what would a reasonable budget be and if anyone knows a good dealer that is in the Campbelltown - Sydney Area, thanks.
  11. Awesome, ghost cray !! Makes me want to quit my work and settle down that way !
  12. Thanks for the advice fellow raiders, yes it is a great forum, great place to learn and share experiences, as well as to express and share the frustration. Yes, definitely consider having back up plans next time - thanks for the tips. Fisheries will be getting a call next time.
  13. Was out at Windang tonight, out on the new breakwalls at the entrance - the tailor were on the bite constant bites for about 20 minutes or more, got about 10 good size ones, on pillies and gang hooks between me and the old man. The only damn problem was there was a large group of Cambodians about 15 or so, I don't want to seem like wanting to single them out, but just so other raiders don't have the same frustration - and maybe even get into any hassles with this rude bunch..... - firstly they cast all over the place, then they tangled on my line the first time, and the bloke and his mate just untangled it and threw it into the rocks below, I couldn't reel it, cos another one of their buddies tangled on my line as well. There goes float, rig, gang hooks and all snagged in the rocks submerged below water !!!! Well, the frustration continues, when same thing happens again, this time, they cut my damn line !!!!! The float, gang hooks and rigs was still out in the water !!!!!! *$$! So packed up about 8.30 and head off to home. Nice place to fish - but probably won't go back to that particular spot, rather find a place that is more quite but less fish - at least no one is going to cut my line and cast on top of me !!!!
