    Over charging

Could be just a spike before the regulator kicks in, did the voltage come back to say around 14.7 volts ? If you are getting a service would be a good idea to ask/check
  3. Will do Dave. I'll give you a call next time I'm heading out, might be able to catch up and shout you a few beers Ian 0412171133
  4. Thanks Dave I'll have a look at the maps and give them a try. Thanks for the info If you are around and see a white boat with Piscator on the side say hello Good luck in the grand finals Cheers Ian
  5. Thanks Croydon No heading down this weekend hopefully Saturday, if the weather is good. Having the Family will stop me heading out to far, was just going to try the flathead drift between snapper island and the toll gates, or is their any good reefs need by. Have heard good reports so hopefully will be able to catch a few for the table. Are you heading out on the weekend ? As for the south Durras ramp might need to check it out a few more times. Cheers Ian 0412171133

    UHF Radios

UHF or VHF or are you thinking of a 27mhz radio ? As for wiring there is normaly only two wires that you need to connect, power and earth wire which are normaly red and black. So if you think you can handle that you might as well give it a try. Then just plug in the aerial and your away, their is also the mounting of the radio and aerial but a Saturday afternoon with a couple of beers, should do the trick.
  7. Has any body used the boat ramp at the Murramarang resort at Durras? Managed to score my self a on site van, at lakesea caravan park which is 5min away and would be handy to use. Ramp is a beach launch with a concrete ramp, any thoughts experiences, low tide, etc Most people are saying that it is only a small craft ramp Boat is a 6m plate boat Hopefully will be wetting the hull next weekend with the family if anybody's heading out/around or would like to set me in the right direction (haven't fish out of here before :Batemans bay" will be using the hanging rock ramp) Cheers Ian
  8. Good luck with that Even the maritime in my location couldn't tell me where they where holding courses (unless I wanted to travel 3hours away) search the web with no luck So if any body knows around the ACT please let me know, I'll be taking the route of fitting and waiting. And since I'm the skipper and I,m responsible. I'll take the fine, if it comes down to it. better to be rescued than be floating around out there with no radio contact. I know that there is going to be people upset with this, but I could guarantee that most people out there would not have a license for their radio, even if they are aware that they need one
  9. Thanks Brett this is what I was after. Yes all ready been stung with the full service don't know if I was done over but at lest its done, came in around the $650 mark but that was every thing and included checking wheel bearings boat steering etc. I'll be pretty happy with the fuel economy,if I can get somewhere near that. And yes that was the other problem with the fuel going stale Cheers Ian
  10. This is true, just looking forward to getting it into the water after the work that has all ready gone into it. Bring on the warmer weather, I say. Cheers Ian
  11. This is true and I am not complaining. except when I have to fill up. But 300+ of fuel is a hell of a lot of fuel to be running around with. (And yes I do know that there is no fuel stations out there) Thought somebody may have a similar set up to get me started, I'll do some fuel runs and see.
  12. OK short question long basically I have just purchased a 6.1m plate boat with a 130hp Honda four stroke motor around 150hrs. I was told that the boat had a 200 lt tank on board that's great I was thinking. On further inspection it seams to be around the 325Lt mark as I have just put in a fuel sender and gauge and place 160Lt's in already, to check fuel lines. The question is how much fuel would I require for a days trolling/ or general fishing. Will be fishing out of Batemans Bay/Tathra I know this question is like how long is a piece of string but whats the norm for this size boat? From memory the old man use to take around 70Lt's out for a general bottom bashing day not traveling to far with a 70hp two stroke. Just getting back it to the sport from thing that where alot faster. Thoughts ? Cheers Ian
  13. Do a search for Soda blaster's on the net or in your area. Can be as rough or as gently as required. This will save a lot of mess in the back yard and your lungs will love you for it.
