  1. I keep reading that the Hawkesbury is dead so decided to take a couple of mates out for a run Sat/Sun.

Please let everyone you know that it is still dead.

My mate pulled this one in around Bar Island around 10.30am Sat, not sure size /wieght but a nice fish and cheered him up.

Three more flatties and a couple of big bust ups (around Big Jim's Island) and the guy,s called it quits for the day. Dropped them of at Brooklyn and trotted off down to Cowan for the night shift. Four Jews to around 60cm and one huge Flattie (released)and three nice squid.

One hell of a lot of Hammerhead pups. Called it a day around 11am and went home well pleased. Bait from the local servo.

  2. Hi guy's, sorry for the late reply.

Went out with my brother Sat morning and got back Sun arvo.

Bought a map and took off. Put in at Silverwater (first mistake):ranting2:

Spent most of Sat around middle harbour for a doughnut.

Spent the night around sugarloaf bay for another doughnut.

Up early on Sunday and explored around the harbour for a Doughnut.

Looked at sow and pigs but was not sure if I needed a reef or sand anchor (only had a sand)

Spent the rest of the day stopping here and there for 0's.

Got back to the ramp at LOW TIDE :1badmood:

Had really great time over the 2 days and the moral of the story is, I should have listened to cant catch any then I would not have had to get down to my undies to get the boat back on the trailer. Next time I'll go to Ermington, cheers guy's

  3. Hi Guy's

I'm looking at changing my habit this weekend.

Normally I put a line in the Hawksbury/Broken Bay and Cowan Creek.

I want to have a potter around Sydney Harbour and need help finding a spot to anchor up overnight and

a boat ramp in the Parra area ( I'm from the Blacktown district).

I have a 4.5m runabout and not sure what areas would be suitable.

    Cheers in advance.

    Clive

  4. Hi guy's

I need to replace the rub rail on my old Pride.

Is it a DIY job or do I need to get it done professionaly.

If it's a DIY where can I purchase it.

    Cheers

    Clive

  5. Are they good eating?

    Europeans love them.

Thought my friend was going to kiss me when I turned up with it.

He did have to get my three rigs (snelled with 8/0's)out of it when he cleaned it.

  6. Hi Guy's

I recently bought the Lowrance sidescan to hook up with the HDS 5X which only took an hour to install but when I tried to use it I could only get it to work downscanning.

After checking it out on the web it appears the 5X needs an upgrade which requires hooking it up to another unit.

Does anyone know if I can get this done through a marine outlet or shop(BCF, Bias)

    Cheers Clive

  7. Last weekend I spent the night in Cowan Creek with no luck, decided to go off to Flint & Steel for the morning.

Turn the key and puff a big cloud of blue smoke, but the motor starts, I panic and take off cautiously.

The motor seems to be running well and give a little more throttle and reach 4000rpm.

Running great but won't go past 4000.

Get home still in a panic thinking whats happened and how many $$$$$$.

Call my service mechanic on Tuesday, he gets back to me on Wed, He will call me back to organise a time, STILL waiting on Sat morning, no call.

Geoff gave me a contact for another problem I had a couple of weeks ago, went down and fixed the prob straight away.

4 spark plugs $20 THANK YOU.

I now have a local to look after the motor and my previous mech has lost a client.

    Cheers Geoff your a champion

  8. I got lucky.

The guy's that Geoff pointed me to didn't do fb's so I put it on hold for a couple of days.

Then I was just fixing up a bit of wiring and noticed a hole that had been drilled from the inside and filled with silicone that had perished. Pretty sure that has fixed the prob.

    Thanks for the assistance Geoff.

    Cheers, Clive

  9. Thank you for the advice.

I take the bungs out at the ramp and don't put them back until ready to leave next trip.

I'll have it checked out ASAP.

I live in the Blacktown area if anyone a reputable place to go it would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Clive

  10. Hi Guy's

    In need of some advice.

I am in the process of installing my new down-scanner.

Drilling the pilot holes for the bracket and water starts to come out.

Not a great deal, probably a 7 ounce glass full.

Is this normal or should I be looking for a problem?

I have not been out on the water for a couple of months and always take the bung out at the boat ramp.

    Cheers, Clive

  11. Hi Guy's

I normally potter around Broken Bay and Cowan Creek just prospecting.

A couple of mates have asked if I'd take them to Fishermans Beach and anchor up for a days "beach fishing".

Before agreeing I was wondering if it would be worthwhile and what to expect?

Like I said I mainly prospect but don't want to waste a day if there's nothing there.

    Cheers

  12. Can't believe it......The young bloke saw the catch and decided, yes dad we'll go out again this Sat night.

It's not so bad when you don't know how cold it's going to be but when you know, well then you realise your crazy.
