  1. I along with three other collegues "volunteered" to participate in Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney 2006 from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 August. Oxfam Trailwalker is a team endurance event where teams of four must complete a 100km course from Hunters Hill to Frenchs Forest in less than 48 hours. I know, what were we thinking, my only defence is that I believe Coopers Pale Ale was involved in the decision !!!! The aim of the event is strangely not cruel and unusual torture of participants (like I thought it was) but it is to raise funds to help Oxfam Australia support disadvantaged communities overseas and in Australia. Oxfam Australia is an independent, not-for-profit, secular, community-based aid and development organisation. Its vision is of a fair world in which people control their own lives, their basic rights are achieved and the environment is sustained. So we are walking the 100km to fight poverty. Can you help by sponsoring me and my team? What does your donation do ? $30 can buy a personal washing kit for a family in Sudan, including soap, clothes, a jerry can, sleeping mats and wash basins $50 can pay for Mozambican women living with HIV to take specialised sewing training and help them to develop negotiation skills to gain further contracts $100 can fund a vegetable garden for poor families in South Africa. The garden ensures that families who cannot afford to buy groceries have access to nutritious food Donations are tax deductible. To donate online, please visit www.oxfam.org.au/trailwalker/donate/ then complete the donation form including the drop boxes as follows: 1. Event: Sydney 2006 2. Team Number 064 - HSBC 3 3. Walker Frank Fung We are training hard (believe it or not - just ask us !!) to raise funds for a great cause and would appreciate your generous support. We would appreciate if you could circulate this amongst all of the staff in your teams. If you would like further information about the event, visit www.oxfam.org.au/trailwalker, or if you would like just to make fun of us then please see or email us. Thanks for your support! Frank
