  1. Hi Dave, I'd suggest you look at a Suzuki, i had a freind buy one a short time ago and he absolutley loves it. Anything you buy is going to be a good product, just make sure you buy from a dealer that you feel comfortable with. Dealers don't make much from these small engines, so if you find a dealer that is happy to spend some time with you, you will know for certain that they are a good dealer to buy from. Shop around, but i'd suggest a Suzuki, large capacity engine, hard to beat! Anglermanagement
  2. Hi, I suggest you tyr the team at Coast to Coast Boating, they are excellent and are very patient in understanding your needs and are acceptionally good on price. Give them a call, i'm sure you'll see what i mean! Goodluck, Anglermanagement
  3. Hey, Great bloke to do whateverit is you need done is Hamish from Adventure Marine mobile. I don't normally trust mobile guys but he is better than most dealers. He is factory trained and always does what is required to get the job done right, honest guy too! I had my old Evinrude serviced through Hamish and all went well from that point on. It also didn't cost me everything i had. Give him a try... Goodluck
  4. Hey, The Polycraft Tuff Tender is a great boat. If your after a boat that will look and perform as "new" for many many years to come, this is the one. They are generally heavier than tin but they also do have basic features that may suit you. You are able to install rod holders and use the anchor well that is standard ( no inflatable can do this). Theyare generall a softer and more COMFORTABLE ride than other materials. Infatable boats are softer riding but not always more comfortable. As for boyancy, well that depends on what tin boats your looking at. If you were to buy a flat bottom tin you would have terriffiic stability at low speeds but would suffer severe spinal pain during ruff weather. Poly gives you the ability to retain a flat bottom boat but provide some "give" in it's material to soften the ride quality. Overall they are a great little boat and i would definately suggest you speak to the guys who know. Anglermanagement,
  5. Hey Guys, I'm always looking and wondering about if we are all getting the truth and good service from our local outboard dealers or not ! I find that some tell us what we want to hear and others just bag the opposition to earn points. I was in a dealer the otherday, and just asked a few simple questions, but all i got was a sales bulls#*t and crap. I often hear false or missleading information, or hear that a dealer has poor aftresales service and often a little expensive. They have the ability to control what most people think and manipulate our decisions. Without such sites as this, we would all be on our own. If you were to pick between service, price or quality, what would you choose and expect from your dealer ? I'd be very interested to know ! 'm sure you would too !!! I don't know if we are all allowed to say, but who's the best around ??? Thanks guys, Anglermanagment
  6. Hey everyone, I would generally agree with what is said about Four strokes and replacing timing belts, but the Suzuki does not ave a timing belt sytem ! It usues the exact timing chain system that is used on all GSXR motorcycles, and is set for life. It uses a Hydraulic tensioner that is self adjusting and therefore reduces noise, as it's fully submerged in oil. All you need to do during a service is replace a filter at $6.80 and 2.2Ltrs of mineral engine oil @ $5.75p/ltr. I can assure you that there are no tappet adjustments, as there are no tappets! It runs a shim and bucket set up as found on almost all current japanese motor cars and motorcycles. There is no radio intereferance ceated by the Suzuki as it uses the latest ignition system, being that where the ingnition coil is built directly into the spark plug caps which simplifies the wiring system. It usues a full stainless and very servicable waterpump housing, which is suprisingly very cheap at around $65.00. Cylinder head faluire, never heard of !!! When was the last time you heard about a Japanese motor car requiring a clyinderhead replacement. OH, and they are a clearance engine! So if something did fail, there would be no damage anyway. Not being too picky, but i do love my little baby. As i have said before, i would marry it if i could I bought my Suzuki for just under $7000.00 fitted without any trade in. It was fitted to a polycraft 410 sideconsole. Huey is correct with the comment about capacity and i agree. Remember that Johnson/Suzuki is three cylinder 814cc verses the E-tec Two cylinder 863cc which utilizes an exhaust powervalve to assist with developing horsepower. Three cylinder is again what produces torque. Eitherway, i'm sure whatever you buy you won't regret it. All outboards these days are good and deserve their place in the market. I just love my baby and did my research Anglermanagment.
  7. Good one Adam, i'm jeleous !!!!!!! I'm certain that you won't regret it. Anglermanagment.
  8. Hello, I can say that if your boat can handle the power, go the four-stroke Suzuki, i did I found it as being the smoothest engine that i ran, and most definately the quietest. The engine has data recording which means that you know exactly evry movement that it has ever performed. Great when letting freinds borrow the boat, or between service intervals. The engine is zippy and yet still provides an awsome top end grunt. It has a large capacity and double overhead cam with a very efficient and servicable injection system, no plastic rubbish. I love mine and that's the reason i wish to talk so highly of it !!! If it were a woman, i'd marry it The choice is for you to make, just ask as many questions as possible try to expose yourself to as much info as possible. Word of mouth sometimes just aint enough. 9. Hi Billfisher, If you want the honest trith regarding your comparisons, look at the number of DI engines sold worldwide and in Australia. And know that since SUZUKI terminated their relationship with BRP, bombardier has listed their BRP company up for sale. I was told via a reputabel BRP dealer which i would rather not say. 8% of engines worldwide are direct injected two strokes, while 6% are sold here in Australia. I would say, do the right thing and buy Four-stroke !!! They are lower on maitanence, and generally cheaper on initial purchase. E-tec boast three year non service, but you will not see this written with out the word "schedualed" written. Would you be happy to buy a used item that has almost no service histrory. They still use piston locating pins that work loose at around 1000-2000hrs. Low pressure fuel system with high pressure injectors @$800 each ! Anyone who promotes this product has just been sucked in and exploited by very very very good marketing !!! After all, you can't put lipstick on a pig !!! I had a freind buy one recently buy an E-tec 50HP and is not impressed. It's actually heavier than the Suzuki/Johnson Four-stroke. I have a 50HP Suzuki and belileve that it is the best on the market. I was going towards E-tec, and then rethought my decision just in time. Study the Suzuki and make your own decision. I'm sure you will not be dissappointed!!! Anglermanagment,
