So fishraiders, Went to Dunns Swamp about a week ago and despite the shit weather still hit the water for a few sessions... Anyways I was using a spinner bait and made my way to a secluded part of the swamp on my yak and jigged it gently in front of a rock face... Without expectation my rod buckles over but i think it's just a snag until it takes of dragging the yak straight for a submerged log 10 meters away... So at this stage I had two options: 1) free spool the fish in hopes of it turning away from the log Or 2) lock up the drag and try to turn it's head Well i picked option two and to my misery I pulled the hook... Not happy at all but found the brighter side that there actuall is fish in the swamp after fishing it for many hours, well I should say at least one... Just out of curiosity has anyone else fished there and caught something? Cheers SureCatch

Hey mate Narrabeen lakes is always abit of fun fishing wise... I would recommend gettting the smallest hooks you can get your hands on and a couple loafs of bread (burley with one, eat half one and bait half)... You will always get a few that way... i think the best place to go kid wise is down near the caravan park or the beach just inside the entrance bit... At least you can kick a footy or something whilst waiting for a fishy... SureCatch

Lots of talk going around recently on the elusive hairtail... Was wondering what is the method/rig/bait for fishing them... Also just out of curiosity for those lucky few which have caught these fish how exactly do u prepare them for the table... Do u fillet them or gut them and cook them whole... Cheers SureCatch

Two words for you mate... Pflueger Torsion... Oh and u can match that with a berkley jigging dropshot rod... Nothing better caught some huge fish on this combo and does not cost an arm and leg.... Cheers SureCatch

So a month or so ago there was so much hype on jewie fishing and the rumours of their big inshore numbers... I was wondering if they will still be around in numbers during winter unlike the kingies which move to offshore reefs... Cheers SureCatch
