Hi fellow fishos I'mIm heading down to Bendalong on the south coast on Friday the 11th May for 5 days and have a spare seat on boat only for anyone who can offer some advise on fishing for big snapper in this area amost other things. Just a quick report from Botany bay, Launched the boat at Revesby Beach headed down past Como water colour heavy brown with soil run off, the throttle down past Capitan Cook bridge water colour improved as I entered the bay, was top of the tide and green. No fish to report, Burnt a lot of fuel, bought bait that I came home with, broke a reel, and the wind was blowing in the wrong direction to get a reasonable drift. Fish back down the Georges, no luck, Didn't see any boats landing fish. I hate those days, dog box

Hi guys I was fishing from a boat and catching flathead, whiting, trevally and bream. I'm supprised in three trips I have land 25 flathead between 38~45cm. I haven't caught that many flathead since I fished as a kid on the river. All fish caught on the rising tide. Yesterday we went out again with similar results, sounded out good arches on the bottom around the drop offs and deep holes at lugarno under the power lines, to many boats made it to hard to fish here, might try at night this week. dogbox

Just drop in this report, I've fished the Georges river between Revesby beach and Como bridge last two Fridays and have cleaned up on the fish. The water look brown but is warm and full on life. We used standard station prawns and where on the bite al day.. It been a long time since I can say that I've caught solid keepers in the river and not just one or two. I always ask others on there catch and reports from those is it's all good. My advise get and give it ago, you won't be disappointed.

Hay Guys Took a trip down off the Royal,, it was a late start we didn't drop a line till 10.30am. Fishing the 30-33m mark off the nth headland we landed 10 flathead averaging 40cm lots of ,,small undersize fish between the keepers. We trolled down and back and noted not alot of bait fish on the sounder along the 10-20m mark along the coast. We sounded out a school of Samon around the sth headland of Wattamolla in close one good hook up and that was it,, We returned in choppy sea,, glad to see port Hacking.. water temp 17.5

Hi Fishos, Ive returned from a week down the NSW south coast fishing in a social comp out of Bendalong. The fishing was slow with most of the fish caught at the outer reefs 52m mark and further up to 100 metre. Water cold at 16.5 little warmer wider at 17.2. There is plenty of schools of bait around and a few sharks in close. No snapper to talk about but quality fish caught of Mowong averaging 1.7kg and Flathead 0.8-1.1kg. There where some squire caught but these numbers well short of average catches and no Snapper. There are some big Leather Jackets arround the inner reefs. While at Bendalong I had the nchance to catch up with a few locals who tell me that there are squid around the nth side of Red Head in the nfirst 500 metres from the boat ramp and a few Jews have been taken of the beaches. Dead cuttle fish are also starting to appear on the surface. I also had the chance to fish south JB and i can report not a lot of action some Tuna working bait schools and Samon heading Nth and plenty of whales, water temp 18.7. I can recommend staying at the Bendalong Carravan Park Julie and Brent manage a great park with excellant cabins. The ramp is on the beach at low tide and can make retreval difficult so 4x4 is required,, Happy Fishing,, Dogbox

Thanks Rads, I heard a few weeks ago they where hooking up on Jews some where near Monument Beach at night. So your report gives weight to them being on the bite, look forward to giving that a go. Thanks for your tips Dogbox

I really enjoy the challanges that come with chansing jewfish. But i have not been able to sort through the many myths. Ive caught Jewfish in the middle of the day which goes against those who only chase them on an evening waxing moon. Some of the drop off in Port Hacking favour incoming tides,, but against those who only favour outgoing tides. So when is the best time to go Jewie fishing? Dogbox

Yar thanks, Yar live bait a must,, squid,, yar ive never used it,, only yakers (YT) ,, maybe ill hunt around for squid this week,, what locations,, 4 squid ? Ive fished the brigades and produced very small school jews but im looking for those spots that produce the bigger ones,, this time of year,, Dogbox
