  1. The Marlin are still around alright, searabbit and myself were fishing just the back of Texas for Kings two weeks ago and nearly got spooled by we think must've been a blue on my Stella , line parted ways and the Marlin could be seen jumping in the distance, great excitement for a brief minute
  2. Asaltweapon Mate I'd probably double that, usually we use anywhere from 15-20 kg for a full day out there
  3. Good weekend at Jervis bay chasing kings along the cliffs, caught 6 squid in morning, they were a bit hard to come by, but we headed out in pretty ordinary conditions on Saturday , big swell, rain and a bit of wind, perfect we thought, anyway converted 6 baits into 3 kings, 14kgs, and two 9 kegs fish, also pulled hooks on two fish, one was a big fish, but it was a first for me to be fishing this area , I'll be back again
  4. Job well done, good pic of you holding up fish, how'd you get another boatie over to take it for you
  5. Mate sounds like you still had a fun day out, we were at botany wide fad, divers were there too, I had spoken to these guys last time out there, they were pretty good about it they took there turn drifting past like everybody else, they even got out and starting fishing rod and reel for them, told me weren't to many big ones down there, told me bigger ones hanging wider, they ended up getting a good ons on the troll
  6. Is that the boat I'll see you up at terrigal jigging kings in this year?
  7. Gday guys, Just after some advice on jigging kings in New Zealand , going there. Next week ,I've heard of a couple of good charter operators, but wouldn't mind some feedback from anyone who has been jigging there and who'd they recommend . Dave
  8. Hardtop, Only hit all day and it was on xrap in gold and black color Dave
  9. Fishbones, mate I had four going, managed to get a couple in, but was tangled with the third, rest of the morning I just ran two, 1 had a xrap the other a skirt, too many hassles otherwise, limiting my chances of another one I know but with one on the deck wasn't complaining Dave
  10. G'day Raiders , with the weather reports being so favourable decided to go and try my luck on the yellowfin ,headed out of botany and headed se for about 40 kms, a few boats already scattered about,, didn't take long and soon there was plenty out enjoying the sun and great flat seas, fish were breaking the surface all day in patches but weren't all that interested, I managed 1 about 35kg ,only a guess I didn't have it weighed, about 1.30pm I decided to call it a day as fish didn't want to play, plenty of dolphins and whales keeping me entertained for the long but quick trip back home. NOTE TO SELF : take someone with me next time, too much of a challenge trying to wind other lines in while keeping pressure on fish and fighting him to surface then gaffing , bit of a tangle but as we all know worth the effort.
  11. Nice fish mate, wish I was on the water, definitely would've takenyou up on your offer of coffee
  12. Windred, The bait that i was using was fresh hawkesbury squid, cut into strips. Dave
  13. G'day Raiders, i did have a good day on the jewies yesterday, and from the pic most would know of the spot and how far along the road bridge i was,no point in hiding it,this is what this site is all about i thought, sharing your knowledge and information,in saying that, just because they were there yesterday doesn't always mean they be there today, but it's a good spot to try. Cheers Dave
  14. Congrats boys, Bet you were happy once you had him tail slapping on the bottom of your boat.Well done
  15. Mate, in the little bay behind mol.point near the tug boats, you'll usually see plenty of boats in there getting them. Dave
