    Ok,, It's working again !!!

Can't for the life of me see why it didn't re set, I previously re changed the settings in my phone to " most compatible ", but it still wouldn't work.

It seems to re set back when my Iphone gets up dated, so I've made notes this time, as it's bound to happen again..  Many thanks for assistance.

SO, anyways, above was my first attempt at  " platting ", to see how this paracord performed, I will use stainless D clips after I become more accomplished in the art.

The paracord is rated to 270kg, very easy to Plat, only about $9 for 30 meters from the local green store, you just have to master achieving the end desired length...

I had a near miss recently, when a deckie couldn't quite reach the rocket launcher with one of my game set ups and near lost the whole lot over board 😗....

I've never used them in the past, but as there cheap as chips if you make em yourself, I thought I'd have a go. I'm making a lanyard for rods in the rocket launcher and also a few sets to clip on to the rods I troll with, including my down rigger set up.  Quite quick to make up in all honesty..

    Great work mate!

I won’t be making any as I’m afraid if my mrs finds mine she’ll attach them to me to stop me getting “lost” in the tool stores or out on the golf courses.

    Paracord aka McGyver string.

If only women knew they could make one that only reaches out the door and to the letterbox to stop hubby getting lost down the pub.

What a change in the weather, one day flooding rain, next day, suns out, go figure.

    Climate change isn’t real mate.😂

  3. Don’t get me started on insurance companies. My car got wiped out Jan and still waiting. They are quick to take your money though.

No water damage here except for it filling the pool up 6 inches.

You’ll do more harm than good using a pressure washer on your eaves forcing water into places where it doesn’t belong and if your house was built pre, mid 1980’s they most likely contain asbestos, which is a whole can of worms in itself.

Better to wash them down with a broom dunked in some warm soapy water and if the paint is flaking it will need a light scrape. Don’t scrape into the base material to ensure any asbestos is not disturbed.

Modern day acrylic paints will bond quite well to a reasonably sound surface as long as its clean.

Agree 100% but I’d still sand/scuff the existing substrate before applying paint to anything that’s painted, wash down with sugar soap and hit it with primer and paint.

  5. Depends how old and flaky the paint is. I’ve removed flaky paint with a 1800psi gerni and some wood along with it in places. They can rip off more than you want to remove if not careful.

My question is are you planing on sanding and painting eaves from the ground also? If you do you’re going to want inspector gadget arms.My suspicions is a 3000psi will rip most of it off easy.

Personally if single story which I assume it is if set up a scaffold and work from that you will be standing only a metre or so from ground.

Laughing at your wife saying obsessive. Stewy was also thinking of going fishing but rain was predicted.

Swordie saw the sun was out at 3pm ish and he rushed to the shop to get potting mix to throw over some of the naked areas on the recovering lawn. He also took the opportunity to mow front, back and half the neighbours front (cause it makes our house look better ).
He only mowed it 2 days ago :(

We may need a support group here and say a hi to the wife @BaitDropper

I’d be giving your lawn a core aerate and throw some 80/20 topdressing mix on it and down the core holes with a lawn levelling rake.

You can hire a machine, have it done or do it yourself like this idiot.I wonder who that idiot in video is?😅

That is why we are in a hurry.
Those grasses are at the front.
They didn’t like the Sir Walter at the back yard - too hard for them to chew!
    Here’s to a nice green lawn 😉

You’ll find all types of grass get eaten by grubs it’s just some are hardier than others .In my experience blue couch and couch are probably the worse and kikuyu and buffalo the hardier varieties.

We’ve got Sir Walter in the back yard. A few weeks ago my wife put the pool cover out to dry, two hours in 26 degrees. Shocked to see how quickly it died:

Brought her to tears. But just a week later after some watering and seasol she was basically good as new again. A sturdy grass for sure, a couple weeks later it’s too long for the mower to clip in one pass !

It got leaf scorched it didn’t kill the roots.Doesn't take long doing that or having kids pools on the lawn etc.Its a good way to kill weeds in garden beds when establishing a new garden.

Thanks Fabian we know about the chemical side.
Stewy does “eave patrol” around the place every morning. Mongrel things lay eggs on any smooth surface like garage doors, smooth plant leaves, outdoor light fittings etc

Stewy is a very experienced master gardener. He is renowned for our lawn. Real estate guys say street appeal plus plus.

We went away for 3 weeks and normally the lawn just needs a good mow and tidy up.

We cried when we turned corner and saw a very overgrown lawn. People were almost holding vigils as they thought we had died!! No car, no caravan and it looked  deserted and unkempt.

There had been a massive amount of rain and a lawn that was perfect nourishment for a a march of army worms. They will always go for the best lawn.

I ended up finding a guy who has a degree and consults for turf clubs and golf courses. He came to have a look and chat about things.

He reassured Stewy that his recovery plan would be good. He also sprayed extensively with commercial grade insecticide. This has worked very well and reduced the numbers to zero.

Fertilise, water like buggery and pray. Sort bindis and weeds done. It has greened up day by day.

I will throw up some pics later.

Fair enough. If it’s a running type grass like couch or kikuyu even a nuclear holocaust won't kill it don’t worry. Its coming to the end of the grass growing season as night time temps are dropping and grass will slow down.

I have much to say on lawn problems.
We are in the middle of a lawn that was wiped out by army worms.

I might make a whole post on it.

The lush green is what it normally looks like.

If you and stewy are not on to it Acelypryn is your friend and make sure you destroy the cocoons under eaves etc.Keep an eye out for moths also.

  11. I have a 12m x 6m shed in the backyard that over the years has kept us all amused and well hydrated with various alcoholic beverages for hours on end and at times all day when having BBQ’s etc.

Over the years I’ve had a full size billiard table, table tennis table, air hockey table, dart board, and up until recently an indoor driving range.

All those years of fun times and great laughs I’ll never forget.

These days I only have my dart board in there and gym along with all my tools, gardening gear etc.

And I have a bed in there for my new mate that I adopted after the neighbours moved and left him behind.

I think he’s a happy little camper now.

All the baits that seem to work in my area are soft.

I think you answered your own question.Pointless using tough baits if they don’t work.

If I want a “tough” bait  I use squid,You can buy arrow squid or calamari or catch it.I buy squid tubes from the fish shop and cut it into strips. If the fish are there it works…if they’re not there it doesn’t.Same for soft baits like nippers ,worms etc. When there’s lots of pickers I tend to move spots more than up size bait.Im a pretty average fisho, below average probably but even I know a smaller bait will hook will catch more fish than a bigger bait and hook.

Perhaps try something like strip squid tubes in your spot with a combination of moving spots if pickers persist, changing time of day like nights( way less pickers at night).

  14. Forgive me father as I have sinned on a yearly basis for decades after  reading these posts and replies.

Hope you’re feeling better mate and I doubt you’ll forget again.

People just not paying attention, driving along in a dream world.

Many new vehicles these days have the new mods - lane assist, proximity assist, radar control, etc, etc. The drivers of these vehicles rely too much on the vehicle's electronics doing the work so they switch off. As I say, some of these drivers could not drive their finger up their own ar*e.

I agree 100% mate.Just as much as internet and social media has made people dumb and lazy  so have all those electronics.

Getting hit up the back is no picnic, it makes you very nervous for a long time. I hope there is no injuries to either party.

Mother in-law got cleaned up 20 yrs ago turning from same spot, same place.

They need to fix Appin Rd.Well actually they need to fix the morons that frequent it.

She had stopped to turn right into our property with heaps of traffic coming into Campbelltown from the coast and nothing behind her for miles.Shes was talking to my son in passenger seat waiting to turn when all of a sudden a mighty bang from the rear pushing her 5 feet forward with her foot on the brake the guy cleaned her up doing 80k he didn’t even brake or anything as he said himself he was distracted talking to both his kids in the back.

i have a solid steel rear step on the back not the crappy tin chrome ones most Utes have. That took the brunt of the hit and bent the mounts real good.

Basically I need a new tailgate, rear step and light.Or I might just put an ally tray on it.IMG_2037.thumb.jpeg.db20f51c28e3e73117a1077474abf702.jpegIMG_2033.thumb.jpeg.bd9926c69506100f5572d5f7feebc3ff.jpegIMG_2034.thumb.jpeg.828a508f2fdea0d9755df681af2c6f2a.jpeg

Blowing my own trumpet (again) but not only am I the Weber king, but also have the crown for seafood on the BBQ too…….seafood on the Barbie is quite tricky. My Swordfish is to die for, and any Greek folks would kill for my whole Bream over coals, somewhere along the track I lost my folding fish holder gizmo that I use for fish, must buy another one.

You can have you fish king title..Give me meat any day.😂
