  4. Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about catching kingfish down at Big Beecroft at Jervis Bay. If so I would appreciate it if you could give me some advice on the best times of year, best times of day and best baits/lures. Also if you know anything else about what you can catch off this rock ledge, then please help me. Thanks Michael
  5. Just south of culburra is jervis bay and there are heaps of landbased fishing there including the tubes, mermaids inlet and almost every beach around here is worth giving a shot. When fishing the tubes you will need quality tackle, you can catch some very big kings off here. Salmon and bonito are also possible with all of your standard rock fish, but for kings I would probably use livies, but normal bait can work. there is also another beach Steamers beach but is on the south side of jervis bay, so it would take around an hour to get there but fishes great. It is a top spot fo salmon, tailor and fishes well for species like bream, whiting, kingfish, but im not sure about jewies or bonito. PM me if you need anymore help and I want to see a report on it.
  6. I agree, there is a place in Jervis Bay called the Tubes and everyone catches kingies up to 30kg down there. I havent fished Kiama but I hace heard that around the blowhole they catch alot of kings. Correct me if im wrong.
  7. Hi Steamers beach in Jervis Bay is an excellent fishing spot. It is approx 2.5 hrs south from sydney, but is worth the trip. You have to go through a trail about 2km long but trust me it is worth the walk, one of the best in NSW. If you need to know anything else just PM me.
  8. Hi everyone, has anybody been rock fishing at Big Beecroft (mermaids Inlet)Jervis Bay. If so how good is the fishing in mid January and what do you catch. I would also like to know what baits, times and rigs are the best. Thanks Michael
  9. I would have to agree with spizza, stockton beach has great beach fishing and you are allowed to camp there. Also if you have a 4WD you can drive on there, but you have to have a permit.
  10. Hi, if your going for LBG fishing then the Tubes at Jervis Bay (south Coast, approx 2.5 hrs from sydney) is a must. You can catch anything from little rock fish to Black marlin. Kingfish can get up to 30kg so quality tackle is advised. I havent fished there myself so dont really know what rigs are the best, but I am going down there in summer. Hope this helps Michael
  11. Hi guys, was just wondering if there are any snapper rock spots in Jervis Bay area, if so where are they and what baits/lures etc are best. If not then any other spots/advice would be appreciated.
  12. Yeah, I'v heard that they netted down there, but thank god they stopped. I think that that kind of fishing is the worse type, it just ruins the environment and the fun.
  13. Thanks, that helps alot,go down there every summer, but usually dont have alot of luck, probably beacause I havent known about any spots. Looking forward to going down there, thanks again.
