  1. Awesome animal,.as harsh as it sounds he would look damn good on my mantel. .Fish and chips for a suburb there..Im sure there havent been many catches of that size in a while and im sure there is more out there just as big.......what we should be doing is looking at all the other sharks killed off too for the sake of the comp..Are they proud in the end ?im sure they are and just think about it the next time you get your catch for a comp??????
  2. Great stuff.. another member ...And one that owns a damn good bakery in liverpool up the road.. too good.. Show them how its done from our way.... and welcome again
  3. HA HA HA what a jewie.good on you.. Well i hope you catch many more of those.. The harbour is plentiful of good spots and one thing i learned was to stop listening to the older men bragging to me while walking theyre dogs at the ramp, cause they really dont know *&%^ about what they were tellin me in the end. All comes down to trying new things and listening to slight hints from the actual people who catch the damn fish. Not every fisherman will tell all his secrets but he will hint.. well done you are now the proud fisherman with a photo to be well proud of... il drink to that you tell only what you wish to tell.blurred out or not its an awesome fish..by the way i dont ever photo my fish in the water,, at least you did..
  4. nice catch............wheres the smile
  5. what a feed they would have been.nice mixed bag
  6. Awesome catch...well done,,,,,,,,,where are my rods..........
  7. Well my weekend started 8pm last night .bless my 12hour shifts.going out tonight for jewies in the georges river to try some new spots, and being the lazy man i am i might even put in the effort tonight to catch some live bait,
  8. Will keep the reports going as people tell me its overfished there but story is they are there ..you just got to keep trying new things.....plain pilchard or prawn baits just dont cut it anymore, they will catch but there is more in the oceon than that they find appetising..
  9. Thursday that just passed my arm was twisted to take my aunt for her first jewie.the tide was at the slack end of the runout. She was quick to bait up with a small bit of yellowtail and wasnt even ten minutes that passed for her first hit of a jew.while she played the fish i taught her the valuable lesson about the drag on the reel,as she and many people i have taken have kept the habit of locking the drag completely.BAD IDEA..anyhow we boated a 4 odd kilo jew which wasnt a bad first jew for her. she wasnt too impressed with my ''hey its too small to keep joke'' oops . well hours passed and not too much went on.At the start of the next runout she lured a squid to the boat with her bait and scooped it with the hand net...fluke.. ..i whacked it on live for bait and it didnt even last 5 mins.and i boated a 5kilo jew. first live squid ive ever used and for sure it aint gonna be my last.. gutting them we found half a dozen yellowtail heads we threw in after cutting off the fillets earlier for bait.so it makes you wonder where your fish frames go when you throw them. this week i might try floating a yellowtail head down the berley trail to see what they might get swallowed by.... :
