  1. i have no idea why i didn't place it on the bench where i usually place it. looks like i really need some of those memory vitamins. a lil sad as i'm still a young fella (or so i hope lol). was surprised to find out how attached i am to the damn thing. i think if i lost one of my rods or reels, i'd feel less dishearten.
  2. thanks for the kind wishes. after digging a littler further i found it hidden in my garage lol. i must have misplaced it there when i got back after a long day. how embarassing . but i feel much at ease now. phew.
  3. this is a long shot. i left my tackle box at sans souci park (in the car park i think) last monday. if anyone happened to pick it up, i'll reward you back with $50. it's a kmart clear top black bottom box. has a new 6lb yo-zuri and an 8lb sunline flurocarbon. they are both 30m if i remember correctly. also some old cheapo daiwa 8lb deep sea green mono. and a bunch of soft plastics, 2 or 3 hard plastic, bunch of hooks and sinkers of different sizes. edit: found. thanks anyways.
  4. ^i think anticipating my first catch with a lure is whats drawing me to fish with them. i fear after that it wont be as exciting. but i have a good feeling about this sunday (like every other week before haha). hey, that looks like a pretty good area to fish! i'll have to give that place a go, thanks for the recommendation. my rod is only 6 ft though. hopefully it's long enough to cast out to the drop.
  5. i would like to continue using plastics. i really enjoy fishing with plastics and frankly it was a little too easy when i used live/fresh bait. i don't have a boat and plus inshore is a lot easier for me to access. i figured it wouldn't be that difficult seeing some videos of people fishing off a boat casting close to areas like under a bridge that can be done standing in an area close in proximty inshore. my technique is pretty poor, but i think i'm heading in the right direction. i think i'm just in the wrong area. i might try fishing at a spot in middle harbour this coming sunday. i think the day when i catch my first fish using a lure would be the happiest day of my life lol.
  6. i've been fishing at putney every sunday for the past month and a half, and so far no success. i've started off using soft plastics (a noob who just started recently) but have switched to a crank bait after getting snagged at the bottom numerous times. i go there when it's either high tide or around 2 hours before the tide changes. standing at edge of the stone walls, i don't get bites at all. am i fishing at the wrong spot or doing something wrong? i fish with light gear.
  7. worked my way around with some ghetto diy job. taped the claw the claw plate together as one unit and it works now. hopefully it will hold until i order a new plate. strange thing is, all the pictures i've seen and the schematics indicate one end of the claw plate being flat. the only way this would work would be that both pieces are stuck/welded together. but it doesn't explain the schematics showing them as 2 parts. http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/6918/p1200400z.jpg now i need grease/oil the old gal up and go back to doing what i do best. snagging rugs in parramatta river!
  8. played with it for about an hour and a half and i'm now officially stumped. theres probably a really obvious trick to this, but i'm feeling too defeated to continue. i just can't see how that damn trigger connects to the claw.
  9. yeah the schematics are quite hard to read (good ole 80's print). i found a pretty clear picture of what i assume to be the correct position. i'm going to give that a go when i get home. fiddling it for hours yesterday, i wasn't able to understand how the trigger connects to the claw. the claw just swings around loosely even when it's attached to the pin. here is the picture i found. http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8412/20087616552320085301028.gif it's a bg10. it was already broken when i opened it up. that plate under the screw and above the claw was actually bent, swinging 360. so it was pointless taking a photo of the before. and thanks for the reply slink!
  10. i'm trying to fix my anti-reverse and have stumbled upon a wall. i don't know what i need to do to have the trigger connect to the anti-reverse spring on the ratchet. http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/6587/p1180399o.jpg in the pic i have the anti-reverse plate (under the brass screw) upside down. one side of the plate was bent in which i have straighten out. i believe its placed correctly now (the pin latch on the plate is at the bottom instead of the top), but i just don't know what i'm suppose to do now to have everything working as a system again.
