  3. Thanks guys for the feedback, I've spoken to my local tackle shop, and he's going to put some platyl fine diameter, he had jumbo spools of the stuff he uses it for all his beach fishing, and hell only charge me $10 per reel to respool my reels as he buys it in bulk (it's $20 for 300m spool) he highly recommended it and he's ordering me a spare fj5000 spool next week also, so I'll have a non braid option! let you know how it goes, otherwise I can always change the line.. Tight lines, Shakeel
  4. Hi guys n gals, got up at 4am and decided to go local random beach fishing, hit up a few Sydney beaches mascot and maroubra, whilst i wasn't getting many hits got a live nipper bitten in half, without rebaiting I tossed the half eaten tail back out and bang I felt some weight didn't know what to expect as my Gary Howard breambo 5 wrap started to dance, the 5000 stradic got a work out I was having a tug of war, great fun finally played it out with the last of the high tide waves surging, a luderick of around 35 cms, a first ever for me and off the beach wow!. As the sun came out it went quiet, so I'm going to try luderick tonight, by the way it was a beautiful morning fluffy white clouds lining a beautiful blue sky with the early October sun.....can't wait for summer to heat up the fishing action! Tight lines, Shakeel

  7. Hi guys I need to re spool my surf reels 6500 baitrunner for 12 ft heavy surf, and my gary Howard breambo 5 wrap with stradic fj 5000 what mono line brands do you recommend, I normally use Schneider line but looking for something better any suggestion not really worried about cost, but want quality for beach fishing. This rainy weather calls for some line maintenance! Tight lines, Shakeel
  8. hi mate I sometimes get lower back pains whilst fishing especially in the colder weather where I'm holding onto the fishing rod for prolonged times. I've found when I'm fishing keep my knees slightly bent, this takes the pressure off my back and puts it on my legs. You could try a lower back warm up by crossing your arms across your chest, legs shoulder length apart and lowering your torso slowly down towards your feet and then slowly back to upright. Also keep your back warm, maybe a polar fleece vest could help. Anyway that's what works for me, but have a talk with your dr. And get it checked out! Tight lines, Shakeel
  9. By the way guys it was a long time comming but damn that flatty tasted good all 42 s of it hehehe, I reckon us poor blokes with "anglers disease" suffer from this condition we spend way too much time reading and planning our fishing adventures and not enough time actually out there catching the fish. I have so many fishing mags at home I don't know where to put them all!!! All my non fisho mates think I'm mental! If only they knew how much fun it is! And the thrill of catching that huge Lizard( if I can find one)... For now I'll just dream about it until the long weekend. Can't wait! Good luck fisher people! Tight lines, Shakeel
