  1. lol, no they were kept alive in a keeper net. I took a few quick snaps and let em go. They all swam away even though one was stuggling for a minute or two. I was wondering if freshwater mullet make good salt water baits. Ive been told that carp makes excellent bait off the beach, never tried it though, the thought of lugging o the beach and of cuting up the stinky thing has put me off. Any one tried. To answer you Q mistro it a spot near warragamba river meets nepean. I also caught a rainbow trout there, on bread believe it or not.
  2. BTW all the mullet were released, carp killed, sorry carp boy
  3. After landing a few carp last week went back to the nepean. I got stuck into the mullet this time. I know they are a stinky no good fish but these guys were pretty big for fresh water, and were willing to put up a good fight. Some massive ones showed up, the biggest of the day was just shy of 44cm and was fat as a tank. They were all caught on mmy 2-4 rob, with 4 lb line under a small pencil. I also have a carp pic from last week
  4. G day all, First post so hope it all works out. Fished the nepean near warragamba, the first hour was very slow, busy burlying with bread and corn. Finally saw flashes of sliver following the bread in the water. Threw a small piece of bread under a small float and hooked up to a decent yellow eye mullet (35 cm My pb anyway) Managed to hook up to a fair few more all bout the 30- 34 mark, they all pulled pretty hard on 4 lb line and ultra light gear. Saw a smallish carp in the shallows right under my feet, threw a bread bait under a float under his nose, he quickly chased it down and the rod loaded up. After a nice 5 min fight I netted it and quickly dispatched it. went 51cm. 20 min later saw another tail this time a bit deeper. set up my other rod with a small sinker and size 12 hook. Used corn for bait and threw it in where i saw the tail. 5 min later the rod starked tapping, and I pulled it tight. He only gave a sluggish fight, maybe cause i was using heavier gear (6lb line), but came up 74cm, not a too bad carp. I have pics, but having trouble attaching em
