  1. Well I decided to go get my license last week and couldn't wait so i took boat out with my brother, humbie, and a friend, later I met up with rmzbeast we launched out at pittwater and had a ball. the boat towed excellent, went in the water very easily and drove beautifully considering the water conditions at hand. the motor is very quiet as I wanted. I was a bit scared driving for the first few hours until my brother and humbie threw me in the deep end to show me the ropes of how to handle and to be safe in a boat. only caught a few fish in the morning and then nothing for the rest of the day. got the boat on the trailer pretty easily end headed home to clean my pride and joy. the only thing that went wrong was the rubber strip around the side of the boat came off when we hit a big wave. scared the shit out of me but they all thought it was pretty funny. so I'll be sorting that out through the week. at the end of the day I was very happy with how it performed and can't wait to get out there again, just not in such choppy conditions.
  2. my new 2spd winch and modified A frame so I could push the boat back a little This is my circulating bait tank for the mean time till I sort out something perminent. my bilge and bait tank pump transducer mounting position external view of the bait tank pump I had alot of help from miller on the last lot of things. Thanx mate I decided to go ahead with the plans to modify the bench seat and turn it into a esky. I'm almost finished with it so once its done I'll post the picks up
  3. hey guys, sorry its been so long. just been a little busy. my new downrigger and I gave my boat a name. STEWIES REVENGE for those of you that watch the family guy my new matrix 17x my GPS unit my new side mount rod holders
  4. dam I'm sexy Glad you got home on time, the hammered me! all worth it though
  5. hey phil,Thanx mate. I bought em from bias boating. I had to buy it all seperately. Pretty sure the seats were $99, they had a few cheaper units there but I wanted the folding ones. the pedastool was $79 I'm pretty sure. They are height adjustable and swivel. and 15 big stainless self tappers. and some sikaflex. I I used self tappers to put them in cause I couldn't get underneath the floor. I got told if you can get to it, use nuts and bolts, but if not self tappers will do. Its got 6 holes in the base so I really can't see it going anywhere.
  6. hey guys. sorry its been so long since my last update. Just took a while to figure out what to do with the dash. So here it is. sorry its a little dirty I got the marine grade alloy from miller (thanx mate) was going to try using other stuff cause I was worried about glare and stuff but I'm pretty sure it'll be ok. If its real bad then I'll have to fix it This is my new removable nav light
  7. Yeah I know I have been trying to figure out a name for it for a while now. probably give it a name once its ready.
  8. ah, good thinking guys. hmmm, carbon fibre hey I don't really want to pimp it out, just want it to look good and only do it once. I was lucky with the bench seat as all the hard work was done for me. the box came with the boat. I just modified it to how I wanted it.
  9. ha ha PIMP MY BOAT thats exactly what i was thinking. was going to use a flat peace of 3mm alloy with the swirl pattern on it, but as johnno said, I'm a bit worried about the glare. was thinking of painting it but I am a painter, and I know that it would get scratched and I'd be painting it again and again. The old man was thinking of using that funny looking grit style alloy sheet stuff from bunnings but personally I think it looks shit. Was going to glass it again but then I got to paint it and then same prob as above.
  10. Righto! more progress I installed all the required things to put my UHF in. Now I am running power from the battery to the front of the boat with the help of a bus bar. this way I don't need to run 50 wires from the front to the battery, just 2. Like my isolator. my next bit to do is get rid of this shitty looking dash and put something there to make it look a bit better. maybe some alloy or something.
  11. Here it is, Its pretty cool cause I can move it into any position I like.
  12. Thanx guys, I'm turning the old seat frame into a bench seat at the moment and all seems well. the box is made from fibreglass so i was thinking of turning it into an eski aswell. I got the foam for the top, my mum sewed the vinyl up for me last night. The box is all carpeted, and I have one of those wilson 4 rod holder thingies that I'm going to bolt to the back of it. once on, I'm thinking of making a back rest that can be held into place with the rod holders and removed if needed. I should have the bench finished by sunday so I'll get some pics up of it then. Thankyou for all the support guy's, it is all greatly appreciated. cheers
  13. well more work on my boat over the weekend and got in big shit off the for spending more time on my boat than with her. I put some sexy alloy strips along the edges of the carpet near the storage area and in the back where the tank sits to make it look all pretty and stuff. Nearly all my rod holders are bolted into place. pedestals are bolted into place same with my seats. not too long now just a shame that its winter
  14. http://fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=21803 this is mine mate. carpeted it all myself with contact adhesive with a brush as an aplicater. I got it from BCF at auburn. $39 a metre
  15. nice one dude, too bloody cold for me
  16. I started with all the carpet last week and man!!!!!!!! what a nightmare! under the screen was killing me as all the fumes from the glue just stayed in there. I had a big headache that night. Rod holders are in but not bolted down yet, same with the pedastool. little confused on weather to use self tappers or nuts and bolts. this is the tipper part on the trailer we had to replace like my wheels
  17. hey guys, me and my old man bought a nautiglass 14.5 runabout for $900 at callala beach over a year ago now and are in the process of setting it up (long story as to why its taking so long). motor was a chrystler 85 so now that thats gone and been replaced with a 90something 60hp mariner. we had to do a bit of cutting and welding to the trailer as the rust took its toll. new gaurds, wheels, hubs, rod holders, seats, carpet, tanks, screen, uhf, and steering. can't wait to get it out on the water and leave a report for the first time as my land based reports were more of a comedy experience than a night out fishing. I've been going out with Miller a few times now and caught my first kingy so its really given me a good kick in the butt to get it going (so has Miller. quite alot actually). I'll keep you all posted on the progress.
