Gday loomylover,
mate sorry to be a pain. My missus and I are heading up there early January for a holiday. Offcoarse the boat is tagging along too hehe. Could you spare any advice on crossing the bar at the entrance to the hastings. Have fished the river when I was a kid but never been outside. I tried to PM you but it wouldn't let me send it through
Cheers mate

Anthony, hows the bar down at Batemens bay anyway mate?
I here it can get a bit hairy especially when coming in, in the arvo. On the maps it looks to be pretty wide must just cop a lot of sand build up

Hey fellas,
A quick question> does the wave buoy off Botany, the buoy 2kms off Kurnell produce any Dollies in season? I remember fishing it about 3 years ago with my brother in law in febuary and didn't get a touch
Cheers

Hey raiders,
Heading up to North Haven after new years with the family. Planning on doing a fair amount of fishing both offshore from camden Haven and up north at Port macquarie. I've spoken to a few blokes about the bar up at North haven and got some very good info. Just wondering if anyones has a little bit of experience or knowledge on the bar up at Port.
Cheers raiders

Gday Raiders,
What I thought was going to be a fishless weekend until I get a call from my mate on Friday night asking me to come for a run out on his boat and check out the FAD. .
Conditions yesterday morning were very pleasant, better then expected when I turned on the marine forecast on the weather channel at 5am it said 3 m seas and 30knots winds. We got out to Barrenjoey and found things to be completely different. Light winds hardly any chop and metre swells. A very easy 22 km run out to the FAD. Not much happening out there, trolled and threw 3 blocks of old Pillies out there. Only fish to make an appearance was a stray dollie about 6 or 7kg which came up the trail and was gone in seconds before we could get a bait down to it him .
Headed into Long Rf and things looked very good, 4 fish on the first drift. Ended up with 8 keepers before heading back in just after luchtime. 2 trevally, 2 Reds, a big Mowie, a Nannygai and a couple of jackets.
Was a great day out. Got back home went had a bit of snooze got up and watched the footy . Can't ask for much more than that.
Cheers

Payed a visit to the Wave Bouy off Bondi last season. As netic said it doesn't seem to hold a great number off Dollies. On that day I managed about two and they weren't of any great size, probably the smallest dolphin fish I've seen in quite a while but still fun.
I don't have the co-ordinates for it but it is visible off Bondi beach.
Sorry I couldn't be much help mate but i'll ask around see if I can get them
cheers

Cheers fellas, thanks for all your replies. Would love to get something different at the fads nothing wrong with the dollies though. A Marlin or Wahoo would be tops
Dan: mate was that the yellowfin shown in your Dvd?
Cheers

I use smaller sabiki rigs for bait collecting - they work well on most species ie. yellowtail, herring etc.
Flattieman.
Cheers mate, yeh those smaller models work wonders on the livies. I saw the bigger suckers in the shop the other day, they're supposed to work well on all the reefies- snapper, mowies, Pearl Perch etc

Gday Raiders,
Just curious to see if anyone has used those Sabiki Rigs- the 3 hook paternoster rigs with a bean and a weird looking glow in the dark head. I tried them the other week and they seemed to be a good target for those bloody leatherjackets
Cheers

Hey Raiders,
Was just curious to see what would be the most unusual capture fishing near fad a fishraider has caught?
Mine would have to be a 7 kg Kingfish taken off the terrigal fad last year. Have seen a bloke pull a Marlin off the one at Swansea
Cheers

yeh not too many out there these days mate, last 6 trips to the Peak and I've got squat.
Was a double hook up mate One on a pusher, and the other on a pink squid on the nose of a Pillie, none after that and none were at browns on that day either
