  1. The reason I asked was the last time I fished that area my mates and I caught 6 or 8 lizards up to 70cm all on SP’s bait only caught tiny snapper. If you don’t use SP’s it may be an idea to get a couple of packets and give them a go.
  2. G/day wombat did you use bait or lures on the lizard?
  3. for what style of fishing?
  4. G/day Lee It certainly a blue ribbon day on the flatties mate every thing we tried worked & for sure we will get a fish in together in the early part of the new year. Have had your rig out yet? If so how did it go?
  5. Flathead was on the agenda as we launched out of the Sylvania Waters ramp at 6am the plan of attack was simple we would work the north side of the bay from Towra to Silvers beach chucking SP’s around. On our first drift Mick with his second cast nails a 50cm lizard & it was almost nonstop action for the next 4 hours we had to move around a bit & try to keep out of the thicker patches of weed & work the edges of the weed. To cut a long story short we ended up catching 30 plus flatties from as small as 25cm up to the best fish 70cm & 10 of the lizards were between 50 & 58cm we kept 4 flatties each the rest were released. All the fish were caught on squidge fish lures of various sizes & colours. PS forgot to charge the digi got some pics on a standed camra will post pics when able
  6. G/day Hooky At least you managed hunt up a feed which was more than I did , were you using bait or lures over at Brighton?
  7. A bit of a shocking experience touching a numb fish , there seems to be quite a few in the bay I get one about every second trip.
  8. yeah I know, I told my mate that but he wouldn't ware it.
  9. Fished Botany yesterday for pretty poor results. Started off fishing along the container wall near the second last green marker, burlyed heavily with bread & tuna oil hoping for some trevally & slimies, didn’t get a touch from either plenty of yakkas we pinned one through the nose & sent it down near the bottom for nil results. On the up side my mate caught a cuttlefish of about 3kg, which was kept for bait. Went over & fished near the 3rd runway the tide was pushing hard buy then we caught 3 small flatties over the next hour before deciding to go for a flattie spin tried over at foreshore drive, nice conditions beautiful drift but no fish then headed over to Towra, the drift was a bit fast but we gave it a go any way but again nothing. The last roll of the dice was Brighton while heading over there came on a patch of tailor ripping into white bait, out came the chrome lures & we were into them but they were only small fish no bigger then 28cm, what they lacked in size they made up for in numbers we must of caught & released 50 or 60 tailor over the next half hour & left them biting. One thing of interest while the tailor was getting into the white bait a small hammerhead was giving the tailor a hard time.
  10. top kingie on 3kg & pretty arsey not to busted on the anchor rope but we need a bit of luck now & then

    Still Waiting

Gees Lee I thought that your boat all tricked up & out there by now I would be really piss off by now & by the sounds of it you are . I have had a few dramas over the past few weeks but they should be sorted shortly. After Christmas we will arrange a trip out in the bay chasing kings.
  15. got your self a lot of flake n chips there
  16. I have the 30 & have it loaded 10 pound fireline, last season I knocked over 8 to 10 kings up to 80cm & heaps of salmon. The reel worked flawlessly, the 20 will handle little tunas with no dramas
  17. I do a similar thing to swoffa, I tighten the drags but to conserve water I wait for it to rain
  18. Political correctness is buggered in NSW a person can get a drivers license even if they can’t read or write English , I wonder how many accidents that may have contributed to. I read an article a while back that statistically asian deaths in rock fishing is way above ethnic percapiter, & its not because they are stupid its because they just don’t understand Australian conditions its just a matter of education. The same applies to Chippy Norton you need to educate the people fishing there, so I hope that the fishcare people are multilingual or have lots of fliers in every language know to man.

    Oh My God

Lee with 800 yards of 80 pound line it would certainly get the bream out of the racks in quick time

    New Floor

I have a new floor to go into my boat, I was told not to paint the treated ply while there’s rain about or while its humid or the paint will lift. I have also been told that treated ply doesn’t need painting? :confusuion:

    Anchoring System

    whats a painter :confusuion:
  22. A couple of weeks back I was watching rex hunt on fox and 2 young fellers were showing a anchoring system where you place the anchor over the side of the boat and run a line from the bow to the anchor line, using a toggle system to lay the boat beam on to where you want to fish instead of the fishing lines all hanging over the arse end. I have been looking for more information about that segment, did any one else see that show or know more about that system. THANKS
  23. By the look of both the Atlantic Dawn & Veronica I think that they would make brilliant artificial reefs
