One of angling's great mysteries I think, its given me the bug though to have another crack!!

It has made me as keen as mustard to get out and have another crack!!!!

I think it just snapped about just over 1-foot from the hook,couldn't have cut it any cleaner with a knife?

I told my wife that buying good lures would save me money on bait. oops!!

A brand new one at that, still got the box in the boat. Thats fishing!!!!!

Not to far, approx 45-50 metres deep...

It was a very clean break approx 2' up the leader???

I have been stewing on the bust off, going over what i could have done differently. It is a rod that santa brought for me and i think that the drag may be a bit more sensitive than my old ones??

Hi Raiders, Took my young bloke out for a fish yesterday. Hit the water at 5.00am and headed to Balmoral for some livies, had a dozen in about 30mins. Went for a quick troll around Grotto Point and were into good sized salmon as soon as the lures hit the water my son had a ball and thought it was hilarious when a kayaker paddled under his line and almost copped a Salmon in the head as it jumped out of the water. Then headed for north head, it was a little rough but decided to have a quick troll. We went out away from the heads and landed a couple of 50cm Doliies not big but a 1st for us both, I then threw on a xrap 20' diver and within 5-mins it was off. Not sure what it was but it went like the clappers and snapped my 50lb leader. Ducked back into North Head to calmer water and managed a few rat kings. All up not a bad day my son had a blast and keeps whinging that his arms are sore, would love to know what stole my new lure?? This is my 1st report, hope its O.K?? Pete'....

Hi Guys & Gals, I have just recently got my 1st boat, I got excited and brought a heap of boat rods with big shimano bait runners. I'm allowed to buy a rod for christmas, trying to find somthing between drifting for flatties but would do o.k with a just over legal king. Does anyone have any suggestions my budget is $350-$400 incl line???? Pete'....

Hi Guys & Gals, Does anyone know where i can download a workshop manual for a 8hp Mariner?? Trying to help my brother in-law with his tinny and we have hit a snag.. We have dropped the gearbox and changed the water pump, But everytime we try to put it together its pushing the selector shaft into gear and locking it there?? Pete..

Thanks guys, All great info what sort of depth would i look for? eg flint and steel varies from 15mts - 6-mts within a nine iron. Ive heard that mulllet strips work, but never had any luck! I dont think that live bait will be an option, I have have not mastered that skill yet.. Pete'..

Hi Fishraiders, It is my sons 13th birthday coming up and he wants to go fishing. With it being the full moon if the weather was nice to us i would like to take him for a night fish and have a go for a jewie. Can anyone suggest any where to have a go in the upper hawkesbury/pittwater area where we might be a chance??
