Howe, you can take a walking trail down to Flint and Steel but it takes a while. About 40 minutes from memory. Steep walk back up so you don't want too many salmon in the bucket!

Hi Fishraiders.
I'm a noob at landbase fishing, never caught a legal size fish :I, every time i go fishing its either small fish or no fish. I'm planning to go to Woy Woy by train and was wondering if there are any spots that i should go have a flick. I'm using prawns as bait. (mainline -> sinker -> swivel -> hook), is this a good set up?. I'm hoping to catch a legal size whiting, bream or flathead.

I was wondering if anyone have been recently fishing at Wally Wharf at night 8:30pm onwards to the early morning 1am, any productive squids at Wally Wharf recenty?. Planning to go soon.
Is yamashita size 2.5 good for squidding?.

Hi Fishraiders.
I was wondering if there is any places to fish by public transport not to far in sydney. Ive fished at hawkesbury river station and bobbin head and had no luck in catching a legal size fish. I was wondering if there is other places that i can catch fish by public transport. P.S i live in western sydney.
Species of fish: bream, flathead.

They are quite small and better off with at least 2 and half inch

I was just wondering are these grubs good for fishing, I fish in river mostly. such as hawkesbury, Narrabeen lake. Is this good with 7g size 2 hook jig heads??.

Hey fellow raiders.
I'm a noob at mud crabbing i would like to get some tips and where to go land base mud crabbing. Also what pots should i use and where do i get them from?.
Is bobbin head or apple tree bay good for dropping crab pots land based?.

how was wally wharf btw? I went there didnt try to catch squid but did saw a few of leather jacket.

I want to go fishing squid in bobbin head is the wharf at Apple tree bay good??? and how do you set up a squid jig? is it just squid jig + line and swivel to your main line and that is it?

Hi mate done a few trips down there with the girlfriend, mostly teaching her to fish so just used simple running sinker rig and a prawn. Worked pretty well though had flatties and bream coming in pretty constantly. Also a few flatties on plastics
not a very big beach so just look for the weed patches in the centre for flattiesdid you fish on the beach or around the rocks

Anyone have any luck beach fishing at Wattamolla beach??. If so what have you caught?. What bait you use and where abouts in Wattamolla beach?. (eg with maps and arrows

What about the cone traps? A mate of mine catches 20 to 30 blue swimmers in a two hour session around port kembla

so how does the stocking work? any pictures or anything or is it just put the bait in the stocking then tie a knot then fishing line tied to the knot?.

Is it even clean or okay to eat the crabs caught from there?. also unweighted baits so i do use the normal method with hook and chicken bait?.

Try lavender bay with unweighted baits let them sink have a long net come behind the crab and scoop it up I've caught plenty there but landing them can be very difficult
Don't strike if you feel weight just wind straight in no pumping and winding slowly and don't let the line go slack they will just let go -

Not such an easy task...
A fish bait inside an old stocking cast over the sand flats and checked periodically will often work.
If you find a log wharf extending over the sand flats with areas of weed that can be good.
If you find a fairly dead weight on a retrieve bring it in slowly and have a net ready.

Hello fellow fishraider, i need of a help, what bait do i use to catch whitebait or minnow what ever those small tiny fish called that you use for bait, can i use dead bream or flathead? do i just put a dead bream into the cage or do i have to chop it? also can i use prawns instead. I am currently planning to catch white bait or minnow at apple tree bay at Mt Kuring Gai. I do land base fishing, i fish on the wharf. Please help me by answering my question thank you so much guys

I have been only in a boat on the Hawkesbury, but my mates go land based regularly and catch bream at Berowra Waters.
Berowra waters I wanted to go there as well but which side is good for fishing land base??
