  6. Has anyone purchased a 1kg fire extinguisher lately see below Chubb Fire & Security recall their 1kg fire extinguishers Chubb Fire & Security Pty Ltd have initiated a recall on Chubb, Quell, Fire Smart, Motorcraft and Flameguard 1kg fire extinguishers as some of the products may be under or over filled with powder. The affected extinguishers were on sale nationally from 16 February 2010 - 1 July 2010. This defect poses an extremely high risk to consumers as it potentially may lead to inconsistent operation of the extinguisher. This could result in the extinguisher not being able to put out a fire. Consumers are urged to check their fire extinguishers to see if it is affected by the recall. If your extinguisher is affected immediately return it back to the place of purchase for a replacement. Chubb have also set up a toll free number for consumers to call for more information on 1300 369 636 Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm AEST. For more information go to https://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/988154

  11. Well what a great day having another fellow member on the boat the idea was to chase some squid early but that didn,t happen So we worked back and gave a few spots a go Brad started strong which he landed 3 fish and was casting very well and i was struggling to say the least but i grabbed a plastic on a rod that was already setup and within a few minutes i was on also. which settled the nerves a little. Now with the the light upon us and the sun coming out it warmed a little with our spirits of landing some good fish but soon i noticed the leccy wasn,t running on full power we continued to fish landing a mixed bag for the day (bream, flathead.leatherjacket, whiting) with some bust offs and dropped fish after pretty much thinking they would be boated. the leccy was a battler and a champion at that it stuck it out for the session and gave me nealry a new pb and Brad a great fish.We pulled fish constantly ranging from 25 and up. And some very funny and enjoyable moments on the boat. i had a flattie chase a blade out of the water and launch into the air boat side. with me needing to peg back the score count i did so with a 31cm, then a 37cm within a cast of each other and Brad knocking my hot coffee of the gunwhale in the water that i had just poured. Then Brad scores a 43cm monster 100m before we where to call it a day It was a great day out and enjoyable PS-Paul you parked next to me
  12. I think it is a good idea for some changes to the PFD rules. But they need to be even along the line but that line looks like a wind chart line ie all over the place If they where serious maybe up the size to 5.5m from 4.8 Wind surfers or kite surfers should have a PFD on at all times. as jet ski riders must do.

  19. I decided during the week Sunday was THE day. So when the weekend was fast appoaching and the weather was looking bad. I planned to hit the harbour for a session but once the alarm went seabreeze told me otherwise so snooze was hit, I finally hit the Georges river after the weather looked better. It was a slow day which i went out the front and off towra and got nothing except colder, but i got results with some ideas to suit the conditions further up river in deeper water using vibes. My first bream was 27cm on a blade in 25ft so quickly i dropped again and within 1 min i was on which it felt very solid and i knew it was a good fish hoping to up my new pb from the social of 30cm last sunday. After some big runs i saw the leader knot and the net went under and i was over the moon. :yahoo:as i knew straight away it was a new PB but how big 34.5 to fork 38 to tip i moved on and got another hit which felt different and as i seen it at the boat i was shocked,it was a 50cm+ pike that cut the 6lb leader and swam off with my vx then just a tailor to finish. All bream fell to the ecogear vx40 (409) my go to blade

  24. Hi all As many of our boats do not get used alot over the colder months of the year. I just thought i would put a reminder out there of doing a little maintenance if you do it now you can take your time, rather then rush it when fishing time is needed. we all know in spring to get things repaired or get parts is very hard ie *wheel bearings maybe? You know when its time to look stop putting it off *check/clean battery terminals *keep batteries charged (so no sulfation due to non charge)and will be ready for when decide to hook it on the tow bar. *lubing of pivot points *check that there is no line in or under the prop. regrease the spline once replaced *spray some lube on steering arms (so you don,t have a seized steering arm). *trailer lights been playing up have a look it maybe a simple fix. *Maybe do one of those jobs you thought about but put it off as the fishing has been to good. regards johnno PS-:it is always easier to do it in a garage rather then on the water. As water time is fishing time
  25. Well Done Paul and thanks
