  1. Yeah I was at clifton gardens the other day, I got there around 8am and caught nothing until 12. BUT a guy who got there way before me caught a keeper kingfish on a pillie while he was targeting trevally! Early morning is definitely the way to go.

    Bream?

Caught this in the Woronora river offshoot off of the Georges river on a prawn. At first I thought it was some kind of bream (I'm quite new to fishing) but when we ate it, the flesh had a much firmer texture and the skin was much more rubbery than any bream I've eaten. It was also very tasty! Cheers!
  4. Hey mate nice report Just a question, from the looks of it you fished on the north side of the beach, were you fishing from the cliff or were you closer to the beach? Cheers!
  5. Hey man, thanks for replying! Just did a quick google search on bottom bashing, might give it a go next time.
  6. Hey guys, I've been reading the forums for a long time now, but this is my first time posting. I went to Brown rock today, started fishing around 11:30am with ganged pilchards. We stayed until about 1:30pm, without a single bite. There were 3 other guys there, and they were fishing with prawns and squid with no success. I'm really new to fishing, so I'm a little uncertain as to what is going wrong haha. I've read on this site and others that brown rock is a good spot to fish but I apparently have very bad luck. Such a long trek for nothing I might try Bare island next time, and I think I'll try go in the morning. Some people say that tides are more important than time of day, but others say the opposite. What do you guys think? Cheers!
