  1. mate i was drifting that area . pretty easy to work out where? but if not pm me and i will pass it on to you.
  2. hit the water at 6 this morn, what a nice run to the heads it was. total glass off. Hunted around for livies, was tough but gained a few. Water temp was around 17 to 18 which was rather cool for the bay well around the heads anyway. tried a couple of our local haunts for hoods but no luck. morning was pushing on so we tried back in the bay. Sat back and thought this is the life when one rod buckles over, no big run here, but up comes a nice flattie. As soon as its boated the 6kg outfit screams off, half a spool of line later she pops. Didnt even get time to up and chase it. Thats fishin. Not much else around apart from a lot of smallish flatties. Still beats workin. Nathan
  3. got this week off and was wondering if anyone else is going for a fish this week and wants a tag along or come out with myself in my boat?
  4. red claw are a type of crab we use for groper. the kings we got where just outside the bay but i did see one show his face when we where in the bay chasing livies but wasnt interested in anything
  5. Thats the way hustler. If the fisheries have not got their eyes there we should. I have no problem busting these kind of people. Your not alone being angry with this mate
  6. Headed out from sylvania ramp about 5am to get a tank full of yakkas. Got a dozen in about half hour which is a change from the last few outings. They have been abit hard to get of late. We then headed to a spot just outside the heads and sounded around to find a nice bump. We started the burley up and within half hour we had a few kings and a big dam school of sweep at the motor. got 3 kings all of which where just undersize and a few pj's, one of which i got on a jig. (was excited for the first second or two) all in all a nice day out. Did the same thing yesterday but started out chasing a few salmon for fish cakes. got 4 within half hour casting lures at them. we then headed out to try our luck on some grouper with red claws. Got a few touchups but again no luck.Beats workin though.

    Towing A Boat.

towing should not be such a problem but if it is an auto you may need to fit a tranny cooler, or larger one. one problem that you may encounter is sliding at the ramp when retreiving at low tide. have a good wheel chock and lock the trailer brakes and you SHOULD be ok. but as my2cents said, check the towing capacity is within specs. alot of 6mtr boats get up in the high thousands in weight. remember esky, fuel, fishin gear and purse gear all add extra weight
  8. hopefully try and jig up a few kings myself this sunday if the weather holds out. if not i think it will be time for the esky to be brought out from the boat and placed beside the couch for a footy session.
  9. i have been using these two sites for quite a while now and seem to be rather good and reliable, well better than BOM anyway as we all know what they are like. http://buoyweather.com/wxnav6.jsp?region=AS&program=Maps http://www.seabreeze.com.au/graphs/nsw.asp
  10. Go down near the boat ramp at the worona bridge. Have caught some nice flatties on the sandy side of the ramp and bream on the other side. Just gets busy on weekends though.
  11. I would not bet my left n@t that there is only freshies up the river. lived up there for 5 years and saw quite a few around the different creeks and streams. You could try the rock pool outer walls late afternoon for barra, grunter and salmon as well as the occasional snubby Plus catties up to 10kg LOL. Also the breakwall at the casino is worth a shot as well. Ring Pro Tackle and speak to either Peter Hazard or Eddie Riddle and tell them Nathan sent you and ask them for the better charters around townsville. u Bueat Barra charters is a good call, but i think he has gone to hinchinbrook now, not too sure. Nathan
  12. fished early sunday morning down south at marley. burley hard to get a few small trevs. plenty of baitfish, yakkas, slimies and thousands of dam pike. they where good size pike. through out a fresh squid head as i decided to keep the mantle for a feed, few minutes later i was on. boated a nice red groper 6kg. Caught 3 pj's, they love eating pike. dam things wouldnt leave us alone. all up not a bad morning. Cheers Nathan
